Chapter 0799
Chapter 0799
After several long hours of flying, a plane landed at Flamece International Airport in Valentia. Alden and Serenity arrived with the whole family, both feeling a mix of nerves and conflicting emotions. On one hand, Serenity was finally returning to her mother and father after months away. On the other, she knew that some things wouldn’t be so easy to ignore.
Alden squeezed her hand tightly, brought it to his lips, and said,
“We’re in this together.”
“Yeah…” she replied in almost a whisper.
The children were exhausted. Laura was trying to calm Adele, who was struggling the most after such a long trip. Emma’s legs were aching–she really needed to stretch them out. Everyone had arrived safely but completely drained. John and Ethan were fast asleep, and Paul, who had taken his role as their protector very seriously ever since their kidnapping, had to wake them up.
“I know you’re all tired,” Alden said, looking at everyone. the driver and a security team take you to Maximus’s house up John.” He ruffled the little boy’s hair.

“We’re coming with you!” Paul said, having grown very close to Alden during their time together.
Alden stepped closer to the young man, patted his head, and said,
“Paul, you guys need to rest. I have to see my father, and I don’t know how long I’ll be there. You’re all exhausted. I need you to go with the girls and watch over them for me.
“Daddy! I want to see Grandpa! Why is he in the hospital? I want to see him! He always took care of me–now I can take care of him!”
Alden was about to say no, but he understood that he had to take him. Peter and Ethan were very close, and this was the longest they had ever been apart. Without hesitation, he picked him up and said,
“Alright, let’s go! You can see him, and then I’ll take you to rest. Just look at those dark circles–you shouldn’t have those, you’re just a kid!”
Emma watched Alden as he tried to stay strong, but after spending so much time with him, she could see the storm raging inside him.
“Alden, go ahead. I’ll take the kids so they can rest. I know you have a lot to handle. Paul, John, Maurice–come- on, let’s go with Laura and Adele. We all need to rest. They have to go to the hospital, and they won’t let all of us in.”
“Alright, Emma… But are you going to Dad’s house?” Paúl asked Alden, a hint of nostalgia in his voice.
“Yeah, I guess for now we’ll go there. I don’t really have anywhere else to stay right now, so don’t worry–I’ll be -home in a few hours.”
Since they had left, a lot had changed. The kids had expected to return to the house they shared with Maximus, but that house had been seized by the police. It was all part of the fallout from Frank Levett’s trial, where more crimes had come to light, implicating others as well.
“Serenity, sweetheart, I assume you’re going with Alden…”
“Yeah, Emma, I think we have a lot to talk about with Peter!”
