“I understand. Where are you located?” 

“We’re in Lunavalle, 1 brought her here for a change of scenery, hoping it would help.” 

“I see. Give me ten minutes to find someone who can assist.” 

Those ten minutes felt like an eternity to Catherine. When Chris finally called back, he provided the contact information of a trusted psychiatrist.. 

“Mrs. Catherine, Dr. Serena Hill is someone I trust deeply. She could take the case, but someone would need to bring her to your home.” 

“Thank you, Dr. Sylvester. Your kindness will not go unrewarded,” Catherine assured him before calling the psychiatrist. 

An hour later, a composed woman in her forties arrived at the mansion. Mary had been moved to her bedroom, where she sat silently, tears still streaming down her face. 

“Hello, Signora Catherine. May I see your granddaughter?” 

“Yes, of course. Her name is Mary,” Catherine said, motioning toward the room. 

Dr. Hill entered and found a small, fragile woman curled up on the massive bed. Despite her professionalism, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of pity at the sight. 

“Could I have a moment alone with her?” 

“Of course, but…” Catherine hesitated. 

“Don’t worry. If I need anything, I’ll let you know.” 

Maximus and Alexia walked into the gynecology clinic together, Alexia radiating pride. She felt on top of the world–soon, she would officially carry the first grandchild of the Palmer family. 

Their arrival didn’t go unnoticed. Members of the press, always lurking for gossip about the wealthy elite, quickly spread rumors on social media. 

“Ms. Levett, Mr. Palmer, right this way,” the gynecologist greeted them, leading them into the consultation room. 

Alexia glanced at Maximus. His imposing presence could be intimidating, but she knew how to calm him with just a word. 

“Relax, love. It’s just a routine check–up,” she said soothingly. 

“So, you mentioned a two–week delay and five positive home tests?” the doctor asked.

“Yes. I’ve also been experiencing dizziness and nausea for about a week,” Alexia confirmed.

“Alright. The nurse will give you a container for a urine sample, and we’ll also do a blood test to confirm. It’s quick and painless. 

While the tests were being conducted, whispers about Maximus Palmer and Alexia Levett’s visit to the gynecology clinic spread online. Catherine, scrolling through her tablet, saw the news first. Simultaneously, in Galea, Autora–Mary’s close friend–showed Peter the same post. Seeing it, Peter knew Mary would need him now more than ever. 

Dr. Hill approached Mary slowly, her voice gentle. 

“My name is Serena Hill, and I’d like to talk with you.” 

Mary turned to face her. The sunlight streaming through the window cast an almost angelic glow around the doctor. Something about her presence was calming. 

“Who are you? Why are you here?” Mary asked softly. 

“As I said, I’m Serena Hill. Your family is worried about you, so they thought it might help if you talked to someone outside the family. Would you like to share what’s troubling you?”
