Serenity smiled and hugged her mother. She was right—this was a special moment. It felt as if all barriers had fallen away, and now, every woman who had played a role in her life was gathered here.
"Oh! Before I forget, Mom, Dad… I have someone very special to introduce to you. Well, actually, a few special people," Serenity said, taking Aria’s hand and motioning for Danielle and little Ellie to come forward. "This is Aria, Peter’s real mother, and these are Danielle and her daughter, Ellie. They lived with Aria in a small town in Valeria."
Marcus and Valerie exchanged confused looks, clearly not understanding what their daughter was talking about. So Serenity quickly explained that Maximus had found Peter’s biological mother and had brought her to reunite with her son.
Both of them were stunned by the revelation, but they simply smiled. They weren’t up to date with all the recent news, but they were happy to see that things were slowly getting better for the Palmer family.
"Alright, alright, enough talking! I’m only here to pick up the babies and the little ones. This afternoon, it’ll be John, Ethan, Ellie, and me taking care of four beautiful babies. And for that, my dear Ethan and Ellie, I’m going to need all your help because today, we’re without these women," Marcus said dramatically.
"Dear Marcus, you make it sound like an impossible mission," Camille said as she walked in with her daughters—the same girls who hadn’t seen Serenity in over a year.
"Camille…!" Marcus mumbled, embarrassed. "Just imagine taking care of all these little ones while also watching over these big ones. I’m the only adult!"
"Yeah, yeah, well, now you’ll know what it’s like if you ever decide to have more babies," Camille teased, catching him off guard.
"Alright, Camille! Don’t tease Marcus. He’s doing us a huge favor by watching the kids so we can all be here for Serenity today," Valerie said calmly. "Sweetheart, go with the kids, and if you need anything, please call us."
Once Marcus had taken all the children with him, the team Marcus had hired approached Valerie, ready to begin. Time was ticking.
"Mrs. Bartz, can we start? It would be good to go over the ideas, and as your husband requested, we’ll incorporate details from your own wedding dress to create a new one," the designer said kindly.
Before they could begin, Diana stepped forward, looking a little nervous.
"Serenity, I know I’m not the right person for this, and I know Maximus would have liked to give this to you himself, but he had to leave on urgent business," Diana said, holding out a slightly heavy white box. "Maximus asked me to give this to you."
