Chapter 0106
Candice felt her back freeze. When she looked back, it was indeed Sonia.
She was alone, and it was not known where Alex was.
The moment Sonia saw Hanley, she was obviously stunned for a moment. She asked Candice, “Candice, is this your friend?”
Candice did not expect to meet Sonia here. She felt a little uncomfortable. “Why are you here at the hospital again?”
Sonia bit the bottom of her lip, looking fragile. “I came over for a blood test.”
Candice did not really want to know what Sonia was doing. She just nodded and said nothing.
“Lex went to answer the phone.” On the contrary, Sonia took the initiative to find another topic.
In front of Hanley and others, Candice could not just ignore Sonia. She could only ask, “What’s the matter?”
Sonia was stunned for a moment, then smiled. “Didn’t we agree before that you would bring your friends to have a meal with us when you are free? We happened to meet today.”
After she finished speaking, she saw Alex coming over.
Alex’s eyes stayed on Candice for a moment, and then looked at Hanley.
He sneered softly. “Friend?”
Recalling the unspeakable comments Alex made of Hanley several times before, Candice said, “He has work in the afternoon and doesn’t have time to eat together.”
“Really?” Alex said casually. He paused and said, “No matter what, he’s still Jackson’s cousin. Jackson and I can be considered friends.”
Candice did not expect them to have this level of a relationship. Alex and Jackson have known each other since childhood. Hanley was Jackson’s cousin, so Alex and Hanley should also know each other, right?
But why did Alex look like he hadn’t known Hanley before?
Several questions flashed through Candice’s mind, but she could not grasp any of them.
When she came to her senses again, she heard Hanley’s deep voice saying. “Since we are friends, let’s eat
together.”
Hanley asked the rest of the team to have their meal on their own, while he and Alex found a hotel nearby.
Candice followed behind without saying a word. Among the four people, the happiest one was Sonia.
“Don’t want to eat with them?” Hanley s wed down and asked beside Candice.
Candice shook her head. “No.”

“But you don’t look good.”
Candice pursed her lips and did not answer until after a while. She explained softly. “I just don’t have much of
an appetite.”
“You two are in such good spirits.” After Candice finished speaking, she heard a mocking voice coming from in
front of her.
The hotel was old–fashioned and had no elevator. To get to the private rooms, one could only take the stairs in
the lobby.
Alex stood at the corner of the stairs, looking down at Candice.
Candice paused and heard Sonia say, “Lex, what are you doing? Can’t Candice just chat with her friend?”
Alex scoffed louder, then turned around and went upstairs.
