Chapter 0113
Even when it was time for lunch, Candice hadn’t even finished half of it.
Nadia was still at the hospital. They were discussing who should get food for her when Hanley said, “You
guys can go.”
The others looked at him with interest, their eyes darting between Candice and Hanley.
Candice was still organizing the messy information while Hanley looked at them expressionlessly. “Come
back in the afternoon on time.”
Once Candice was done, he said, “Let’s go down and eat something.”
There was a restaurant in the hotel, and Candice didn’t want to go too far, so she went directly to the second
floor.
She didn’t expect to see Sonia there, however.
Candice frowned. It was obvious that she didn’t expect Sonia and Alex to be staying at the same hotel.
Sonia was similarly surprised when she saw Hanley and Candice, but she could hide her surprise well. She
smiled and greeted Candice. “What a coincidence, Candice.”
What a coincidence indeed.
Candice didn’t want to waste her breath and simply walked past her.
Sonia’s smile froze on her face. But when she remembered about yesterday, she couldn’t help reminding
Candice with glee, “Candice, do you know your mom asked Lex for a loan?”
Candice’s footsteps froze. She turned around and looked at Sonia.
Sonia smiled, but her words were harsh. “He didn’t loan any to her, since she doesn’t look like the type that can pay it back.”
Candice saw the disdain in Sonia’s eyes. Calmly, she said, “What are you so happy about? Do you own Alex’s
money?”
With that, she simply gave Sonia a glare, and she added, “Or you’ve already married into the Elysian
household?”
Sonia’s face instantly turned red because of that.
It had also touched Sonia’s nerve.
After Helen had gone to Aether Corporation that one time, she had never seen her again.
No matter how she tried to clue Alex in, he had never mentioned taking her to see Helen again.
Sonia was no fool. She knew that if she wanted to marry Alex, she needed to first deal with Helen.
But she couldn’t even see her.

Candice grabbed some lunch after saying that to Sonia. Hanley was after her, looking at her with interest. After a moment, he asked, “I thought you were someone with a good temper. But you can be quite fierce.” Candice ordered nothing because she couldn’t be bothered, Instead, she went to the buffet and got herself some salad.
When she heard what Hanley had said, she replied, “Not in a good mood.”
Hanley knew why she wouldn’t be and didn’t say anything. Instead, he grabbed something from the buffet as well and looked for a seat.
They sat in the corner, and there was a potted plant that blocked most prying eyes. All those from behind could see were Candice and a man’s figure.
When Sonia took a picture, she hesitated before gritting her teeth and sent it to Alex.
She typed. I met Candice when I was eating at the hotel. I thought she didn’t check into the same hotel as us?)
