Chapter 0247
The coldness in Alex’s eyes deepened, but he shifted his gaze away from Candice’s face and turned to look at Ivor.
Ivor wasn’t afraid now. The calls from Tiger kept coming, urging him to repay the money.
Ivor was unconcerned, and he grinned as he looked at Alex. “Mr. Elysian, you’re a big boss, right? I’m sure one million isn’t a big deal to you!
“Besides, you were able to give me money back then. What’s wrong with giving a bit more now?
“Here’s the deal. Give me one million, and I’ll give you my daughter. Sleep with her whenever you
want. You won’t need to spend a single penny! What do you think? It’s a profitable deal!”
Alex’s eyes grew colder, but he didn’t respond to Ivor. Instead, he said to the security personnel, ”
Do I need to teach you how to call the police?”
The security personnel were stunned, then glanced at Candice and promptly made the call.
Ivor, fearless and even somewhat crazy, said, “Call the police? Just call them. Those loan sharks already have Candice’s information. So what if I go to prison? If they decide to kill or burn her, it’s
not my problem anymore!”
Candice was shocked.
Suddenly, she remembered the night when a group of people smashed her door. She trembled and asked, “You want me to repay your high–interest loans?!”
“I have no money. If you don’t pay it, who will?!”
Ivor’s hatred was evident. He glared at Candice.
“I asked you to send me money. If you had, you would have only needed to repay them five hundred thousand. Now, it’s a damn one million five hundred thousand! Haha! You’re an idiot! That’s your problem now! You deserve it!”
Although Kayla supported Candice, she was still unsteady on her feet. She staggered back at couple of steps and almost fell.
A good person would never be a loan shark!
Would they believe her if she told people she had no connection with Ivor?
If they did t then they wouldn’t
o’t have smashed bas
The fear in Candice’s heart surged again.
She recalled the banging on her door at midnight and the sounds of windows being smashed. There were also insults and screams from those people, and the words written in red paint at the door… all of it rushed back vividly into her mind.
For someone who was already night–blind, the fear felt in the darkness was several times more
than that of an ordinary person.
All of this made her feel suffocated.
Ivor continued to shout something, but Candice couldn’t hear it clearly. She couldn’t even muster
basic reactions now.
Why was her life so miserable?
It wasn’t until a cold and stern voice spoke up that she was pulled back from this boundless
whirlpool
“She won’t give you money, so you came to me for it?”
