Chapter 0025
Candice turned around to face Alex.
Alex was emotionless as he took off his dripping shirt and threw it on the floor. He looked at Candice. His eyebrows moved, the meaning of which was self-
explanatory.
Candice pursed her lips. She turned around and spoke softly into the phone, “I’m on a business trip.”
She hung up right away and did not mention Alex at all.
Alex looked at her for a while. He then asked indifferently, “Jackson?”
“Mhmm.”
“Since when were you two so close?”
Candice went to the closet to get a towel and answered nonchalantly, “We’ve been close.”
Alex pulled his attention away and did not pursue the conversation.
The business suite they booked was spacious. The bed was huge and there was a small couch in front of it.
Candice thought Alex would sleep on the couch after his shower but he came in half naked.
His hair was dripping wet, his collarbone was glistening with water droplets. There was even some trickling down his perfectly toned body and slipped into his obliques.
He casually sat down beside the bed and tossed Candice a towel. He said succinctly, “Wipe my hair.”
Candice was verifying the details on the contract and was stunned by his request. A moment later, she picked up the towel and knelt beside Alex.
It was not her first time wiping his hair. She was always afraid that he might have a headache so she offered to wipe dry his hair.
Alex rejected it at first but after a few times, he allowed her to dry his hair this
way.
That was many years ago.

She did not even remember when Alex stopped her from touching his hair.
Even after they had sex at home, he would always leave with sweaty hair.
Candice wiped the man’s hair carefully.
Alex’s phone suddenly buzzed.
Due to the proximity, Candice caught a glimpse of Sonia’s name on it.

Alex saw the incoming text as well. He got up all of a sudden and forgot that Candice was still kneeling beside him.
The towel dropped and Candice fell back onto the bed.
Alex went to the balcony and turned around to look at her. He frowned and said, I have a call to make.”
Candice saw Alex’s phone screen was already on showing the contact list. He was probably going to call Sonia.
She packed her stuff and took the document out to the living room.
The door was closed as soon as she left.
Alex was on the call for quite some time.
Candice heard his tender voice from outside and he even chuckled gently.
Even after Candice verified all the details, the door remained closed.
Annoyed, Candice knocked on the door.
The door opened almost immediately. Alex looked at her and asked, “What?”
Candice calmly pointed at the bed behind him and said, “That’s my bed.”
Alex looked at the bed she pointed at. His furrowed brows eased up as he stepped aside. He said with a faint grin, “Come in.”
Candice did not know what he meant by that.
This room was originally hers because she booked it.
