Jessica looked at Candice’s Indifferent appearance, and Inwardly, she knew that claiming not to be moved would be untrue. 

What she had said wasn’t a lle either. When Alex had first brought Candice to meet her, Jessica could sense that he genuinely liked this girl.

Jessica’s thoughts were redirected to work, and she no longer dwelled on Alex’s matters. 

Although she was Alex’s godmother, she genuinely approached the conversation with sincerity. 

making the discussion pleasant for both sides.. 

Afterward, she extended an invitation to Candice. “Would you like to have dinner together?” 

Without hesitation, Candice directly declined. “I’m sorry, Ms. Kane, I have something to attend to 

later.” 

Jessica took it as a polite refusal, and as Candice’s phone happened to ring, she nodded at 

Jessica and left. 

The call was from Jackson. Candice had been closely monitoring the situation with Yvonne, and 

she had enlisted his help. 

She answered the phone, and Jackson’s voice immediately came through. “There’s some surveillance footage here you can come and check. But after consulting my lawyer friend, it’s difficult to prosecute with just surveillance. It would be best to have chat recordings or witness 

accusations.” 

Recording conversations was not practical, and there were only Yvonne and Peach as potential witnesses. Yvonne’s current narrative was still centered around the idea that Sonia was after 

Candice.

Jackson inquired, “Given the current situation, do you want to continue?”

It was Sawyer who called, and his request was simple. He hoped Burning Star Studio could
