Yondu reasoned that since they were going that way, they might as well take advantage of the opportunity to gather Hanley's documents.
Candice's eyes naturally shifted upward when they arrived. She noticed an old woman sunbathing on her balcony.
She came to a halt and asked Yondu, "Is that old woman a neighbor?"
Yondu peered in the direction she pointed and said, "Oh, that's Mrs. Parker. She lives right around the corner. Mrs. Parker mostly keeps to herself, but her daughter sometimes asks her to pick up a package or two."
Mrs. Parker's hair was a soft shade of silver. With a pleasant smile, the old woman appeared to bear the grace of her age. She smiled warmly at Yondu as they walked past.
Finally, with all of the data securely downloaded, Yondu wiped the sweat from his brow.
He remarked, "Phew! I got worried about yet another power outage. Come with me. We should see Mr. Franklyn now," he said.
When they exited the lab, Mrs. Parker was still on her balcony. She was busily shelling walnuts and placing them in a basket.
Candice halted in her tracks.
Mrs. Parker looked up. She squinted her eyes and smiled at her.
Descending the stairs, Yondu mentioned that Mrs. Parker had suffered an injury from falling last year and had yet to recover totally. She now had to rely on a cane for support.
It was getting close to six in the evening after a long day.
Candice had just hailed a taxi when her phone rang. It was a call from a food delivery firm.
The delivery man said, "Hello Ms. Renault, old Mr. Elysian has placed an order for you. Shall we deliver it now?"
With all the goings-on throughout the day, she had almost forgotten about this.
At the same time, she recalled Shawn saying he'd arrange dinner for both her and Alex.
When she arrived at the hotel, she found someone already waiting for her at the door.
Shawn's meal order was extravagant. It was a nourishing feast, with pricey items like truffles and abalone on the menu.
