My Mirror Image by Maybe Not (Candice And Alex’s) novel Chapter 68

Chapter 0068

Once she locked the door, Candice huffed and puffed as she put her hands on the sink. She could still hear Alex’s voice outside. Candice raised her eyes and looked at her reflection in the mirror. She could only feel

how laughable it all was.

Eight years and all she managed to get was that she had slept with him for so long.

Candice suddenly raised her hand and slapped herself brutally. She put in a lot of strength in that slap, and

tears rolled down from her eyes that were already red in the first place.

Two drops of tears fell on the back of her hand. They were burning.

When she walked out again, Alex had already left with the door opened wide.

Candice was stunned for a moment before walking over and closing the door. Only then did she get back to

bed to rest.

She still had to work the next morning. However, Candice had little sleep the whole night. When she woke up.

her face was extremely pale.

She cleaned herself up before leaving and then saw Nina who was at the elevator.

When Nina saw Candice, she paused. And then, she started frowning in disgust and sneered, “Ms. Renault, don’t tell me you’re going to see the clients with that kind of expression on your face?”

Candice had already put on some makeup, so it wasn’t as bad as when she had just woken up. However, her condition was just too bad.

Candice was too tired and didn’t want to start a quarrel with Nina. She pressed her lips and simply went to the lobby.

Alex was already there. He glanced at Candice, and his brows furrowed.

“As a staff of Aether, isn’t it disrespectful to meet the clients with that face?” Nina’s sharp voice came from behind. Candice gulped and quickly replied, “I’m sorry. I’m not feeling well today, so…”

Before she could even finish it, she was cut off by Alex and he said, “Find a driver.”

Candice looked up but only to hear Alex say, “Don’t tell me you’re thinking of driving in that condition?”
