Chapter 535
“Mr. Winters, the brain scans are out.” The doctor handed out a report and spoke in a serious manner. “The blood clot in the back of your head is coagulated. Your body might find this difficult to break down. We might need to perform surgery to clear it out…”
Duke frowned. “What if I don’t do it?”
“You will suffer from frequent headaches…” The doctor paused and said, “It’s just a minor surgery. You will recover in two months. Mr. Winters, do you want to get it done first?”
Duke pursed his lips.
‘I have too many things on hand. I can’t do the surgery now.’
He said with a frown, “Let me finish up some matters first. I’ll come back for a full check-up.”
“Okay, but it’s best for you to come within three months.” The doctor handed him the report. “Stay in the hospital for a week for observation. You will be discharged if everything is fine.” Duke stroked his chin. “I’ll be getting married next month on the sixth.”
The doctor was at a loss for words.
‘I’ve known this for quite some time now. The citizens of Sea City have caused an uproar after knowing that the chairman of Winters Corporation is getting married.
“There’s no need for him to say it out loud.’
“So, I want to get discharged today.” Duke said indifferently, “Sign the discharge form later.”
“That won’t do…” The doctor panicked . “Mr. Winters, you’re not yet fully recovered. You can’t leave the hospital. You need to stay for at least three more days…”
“I will be discharged today, and that’s final.” Duke’s voice was cold, but there was an irrefutable authority in his tone.
The doctor opened his mouth and closed it a couple of times. He finally gave in. “Alright. I will print out a discharge form and sign it.”
Adina and her children reached the bridal shop.
Due to lack of time, they did not tailor the wedding dresses and suits in advance. They could only buy the ready-made ones. “Ms. Daugherty, this is the most valuable wedding dress in our shop. It’s a wedding dress that took the French masters three years to finish by hand.” The employee enthusiastically introduced it to her. “This dress is
decorated with nine hundred and ninety-nine finely split gems. The patterns on the neckline, waist, and skirt are all made of gems, and each gem is sewn by the design master himself …”
Adina’s eyes lit up in shock as she looked at the glimmering white wedding dress in front of her.
Before that, she had thought that there would be a day she could wear a wedding dress… ‘This wedding dress is hand-made. The pattern of the dress is like an ancient totem. Each flower has been decorated with at least six gems. Under the chandelier , the dress shines from top to bottom. This must be every woman’s dream wedding dress…’
“Ms. Daugherty, do you want to try it?” Adina came back to her senses. “Okay, I’ll try this one!” Two employees pushed the wedding dress into the fitting room, and two more went in to help Adina put on the wedding dress.
The four children sat outside and were attended to by another employee.
Harold stroked his chin and said, “The bride wears a white wedding dress. What color should the groom wear?” The waiter said respectfully, “Generally speaking, the groom will wear a black or pink suit, which depends on the groom’s personal temperament.”
Harold turned and looked at Melody. “Mel, what color do you think Daddy will wear?”
“I like pink.” Melody blinked her eyes and said, “I want to wear a pink dress…”
“I’ll wear black, then!” Harold said with a smile, “I want to look better than Daddy! Hehe!”
George and Alden were not interested in trying on clothes, but it was Daddy and Mommy’s big day. So, they had to be patient and choose their suits.
“Wow, Mel, you look so pretty in the pink dress.”
When Melody came out of the fitting room, her three brothers’ eyes lit up.
She usually looked gentle and chubby. Once she was in the sparkly pink dress, she looked even cuter, giving others a strong urge to pinch her chubby face.
Harold tapped on the table and said, “It is decided. I’ll wear pink too!”
