Chapter 911 She gave Mabel a cold look before she hurried to follow Earl. As soon as she reached the courtyard, she caught a distinct scent. She looked around coldly, and she noticed several people hidden among the greenery. If she could notice them, then naturally, Earl could as well. He reached behind and grabbed Adina‘s arm, and his tone was cold as he said, “You asked Duke to come here?”
Adina pursed her lips. She knew Duke would follow her. She had depended her life on it... She whispered, “Now that I‘m in your hands, what can he do? Get in the car, let‘s go.” Her obedient act made Earl think as though she was really willing to leave everything behind and travel the world with him... But this illusion completely disappeared when he saw the blood on her neck.
He shoved her into the passenger seat and bent over to pat her down. After he was sure there were no more knives, Earl tied her hands together.
“Be good. Once we get on the airplane, I‘ll untie you.”
Earl got into the driver‘s seat, and the car sped out.
Almost immediately, another car appeared behind theirs. The bodyguards have driven out as
“Flank them from the left and force them onto the national highway.”
Duke gave the order coldly.
The three or more cars behind moved to outflank them, occupying all the left–turn positions and forcing Earl to take the national highway.
Earl grinned nastily and stomped on the gas pedal to its fullest. As he frantically drove the car, Adina, who had her hands tied behind her, reached into her skirt.
Slowly, fewer cars remained on the road. The four to five cars remaining were engaged in a high–speed chase. It was only a matter of time before Duke caught up with Earl. However, with Adina in Earl‘s hands, Duke could only remain at a distance. Adina‘s pupils shrank.
Bang!
A bullet pierced through the air, shattering the car window, and hit Earl in his left chest where his heart was. His sinister black eyes widened suddenly. Then, he turned his head to see the woman sitting to his right. The knife in Adina‘s hand had pierced his neck, and blood was pouring out. The bullet had hit him in the chest, and blood immediately seeped into his black clothes. He fell slowly, but his eyes remained staring at Adina sorrowfully.
“Addy! Addy!”
Duke knocked loudly on the car window. Feeling cold in her hands and feet, Adina pushed the car door open and dived head–first into Duke‘s arms.
“Duke, I killed someone, I killed a person...“
