Kelsey looked at me with sincerity in her eyes. I was stunned for a moment. "What's Josiah's reason for doing this?"
"I told you that something happened between Hendrix and Josiah in the past. You can ask Hendrix."
Upon hearing this, I frowned. "Why did the Moore Family lay a finger on the Roberts family then? Since Andrea likes Hendrix and both her parents dote on her so much, how were they harsh enough to let Andrea do such a thing to a man she likes?"
All of a sudden, Kelsey sneered. "Director Reid, now I know why you were mentioned that time by the Roberts Group. Do you think that Andrea's parents are stupid? They knew that love changes and that Andrea probably only likes Hendrix so much because he is unattainable to her. Her parents were just trying to use the fact that their daughter likes Hendrix to take advantage of the Roberts family."
After a pause, she continued. "Hendrix said that he went to Jarold City to develop himself due to his own ambitions. Also, the city was booming with potential and opportunities. However, if you think about it from the Jarold City businessmen's perspective, they probably didn't want to share the benefits that they have with him. It's because with him out of the equation, they could get greater and better shares among themselves. Do you think they were able to accept him easily?"
I frowned. The reason Hendrix went to Jarold City was the abundance of resources and information. These were what fuelled his big ambitions. Nevertheless, what Kelsey said was indeed correct as nobody wanted their slice of the pie being snatched away.
Both Andrea's parents had indeed found a great excuse to keep the Roberts family close by their side when and if Andrea and Hendrix got together.
If things were to happen in such a way, the Moore family wouldn't lose anything. Instead, they'll grow stronger as they could take advantage of whatever they want from Hendrix.
But what exactly happened in the past between Hendrix and Josiah?
"I almost forgot most of the details that happened. Kelsey, thank you for telling me this, but I have my own path to walk on now. I would risk my position if I were to help you. I can't take my future lightly."
