I frowned. "So, you are determined to get this done and you need me to help you?"
Kelsey nodded and bit her lip. "I have no way out. If you don't, I might die. If I were to live the rest of my life with Calvin, I would go crazy."
I really couldn't understand how things turned so drastic within half a year when she was blissfully happy with Calvin the last time I remembered.
"You've known Calvin for such a long time and you only saw his true colors after you married him?"
At the mention of Calvin, Kelsey looked like a deflated balloon. Looking me in the eye and said, "Yes. I thought that I knew him well as I've known him for years. Who knew that it was all just a faqade? His gentleman side was just an act and he managed to trick his parents and the people around him into believing it."
Saying that, she lowered her head and her body trembled slightly. Perhaps some of the terrible, brutal memories had been awakened in her mind. "If I never endured his abuse, I would never believe that he was someone like that. He totally changed after our marriage. At first, it was just his burst of rage. Then, it progressed to him being abusive and violent. I thought of reporting him to the police but people had been saying that I must've done something wrong to make him act in such ways. Just like what happened in the restaurant the other day, you saw it for yourself. He just went off for no reason and I didn't know why either."
"How do you want me to help you?" I asked simply without any intention of prying.
After all, this was her own matters but it was better to have one more friend than one more enemy.
Kelsey was surprised, probably not expecting that I would agree with her plan. She was a little tumultuous. "Calvin is lustful. He likes women whom he can't win over. Have a meal with me."
I frowned. "You've been thinking about this for a long time. Is that true?"
She nodded, with a bit of guilt in her eyes. "You're the only one I know who could destroy Calvin in one blow."
"It's a good plan." I narrowed my eyes and said, "Let me know after the details are set."
