Back to My Worst Birthday and Starting Anew
Chapter 80 Bennett’s Apology
Charmaine cast a slow, indifferent glance at Olympia, devoid of any emotion.
Turning away, she fixed her unwavering gaze on Willard.

Willard gritted his teeth under the pressure and reluctantly stepped forward. “It was my daughter who acted out of line today. This is all a misunderstanding. I hope you can forgive her.”
The corners of Charmaine’s lips lifted into a broader smile as she looked at the man standing before her with his lowered head.
She was well aware that Willard likely hated her to his core at this moment.
But so what?
He doted on Leah, after all.
Since Leah was the Nelsons‘ precious princess, whatever brought honor or disgrace to her would naturally affect the Nelsons.
Not just them–Bennett and Sophie were also part of this tangled mess.
When it came to revenge, Charmaine wasn’t planning to leave anyone out.
Her eyelashes fluttered lightly as she suppressed the glint of sharpness in her eyes.
“Mr. Nelson, you are indeed reasonable. I accept your apology.”
Willard exhaled deeply and led Leah–whose embarrassment had reached new heights–out of the room.
Daniel, still being dragged along by Leah, cast a long, meaningful glance at Charmaine and Emyr before reluctantly following them.
The scattered mess on the floor had already been cleaned up. Alessa raised her hand to signal, “The banquet will continue.”
The crowd dispersed, and Charmaine wheeled Emyr over to a quieter corner.
With no one else around, Charmaine instantly switched to a playful, fawning expression. She crouched slightly before him, grinning ear to ear. “Mr. Emyr, you arrived just in time! Like a god descending from the heavens, saving me from a dire situation … ”
Emyr shot her a glare, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “You’re exploiting my power. Satisfying, wasn’t it?”
Charmaine scratched her nose sheepishly and feigned ignorance. “What? When did I ever do that?”
“Heh.”
He didn’t bother to elaborate. Instead, he reached toward her neck, making her flinch.
“Alright, alright, I get it!” Charmaine immediately caved. “You’re talking about me making Willard apologize, right? Heh, well, I did borrow a bit of your power. But it was all for your sake!”
Emyr sneered coldly. “You’re looking out for me now?”

“Of course!” Charmaine patted her chest exaggeratedly. “Everyone knows I’m yours now. If Leah bullied me, wouldn’t that be slapping you in the face? A simple apology wouldn’t cut it. Do you think Leah is worthy of apologizing to someone as distinguished as Mr. Emyr? It had to be her parents. That’s the only way to show sincerity and deliver a proper warning!”
Watching her spout such nonsense without even blushing, Emyr raised his hand again and flicked her forehead.
“I’ve come to realize, not only are you good with needles, but you’ve also got quite the silver tongue.”
Charmaine rubbed her forehead. “But admit it–what I said makes sense, doesn’t it?”
Emyr assessed her words briefly before conceding, “There is some logic to it.”
On the side, Tad, who had been watching Emyr slowly fall under Charmaine’s spell, was speechless.
Mr. Emyr, you’ve fallen. You’re even buying into her flattery now!
Charmaine massaged her forehead while her stomach let out an audible grumble. She glanced at Emyr with a smile. “You must’ve just come straight from a meeting, Mr. Emyr. You haven’t eaten yet, have you?”
