Nash nodded. The smell of alcohol wafted from his body as he 

placed the food on the coffee table. 

“What good food did you bring me?” 

Melody happily put her laptop aside as she leaned over to take the 

covers of the food. Her eyes lit up as she opened up each container. ” 

Beef Wellington, clam chowder, french onion soup, grilled fish… T- 

This is all food that I love!” 

Tears welled up in her eyes as she asked, “How did you know I love 

this stuff?” 

Other than her parents, no one knew that clam chowder and French 

onion soup were her favorite foods. 

Nash smiled slightly. “When we were having dinner at the Empire 

Hotel the other evening, I noticed you gravitated toward these dishes 

more than the others!” 

Melody had not outwardly proclaimed her preference for these dishes 

because of how many people were present. 

She had not expected Nash to take notice. 

Tears welled up in Melody’s eyes. She felt extremely happy and lucky. 

Nash ruffled Melody’s hair as he said lovingly, “Eat up!” 

Melody nodded and got herself some cutlery so that she could begin tucking in.

“Is the Warden of the Southern Territory here to attend the Southern 

Martial Alliance establishment ceremony?” 

Melody asked between taking bites of the steak, which had already 

been cut up into pieces. 

Nash had his phone out. As he texted Hera, he nodded and replied, ” 

Yes, but I don’t think he’ll be attending it anymore!” 

Melody grinned. “Even the Warden of the Southern Territory is doing 

what you asked him to. You’re amazing!” 

Nash raised an eyebrow. “Are you only just realizing how amazing I 

am?” 

Melody rolled her eyes at him, blushing as she said, “Stop it!” 

Then, she got up and walked toward the cabinet, where she retrieved 

a half-full bottle of red wine. 

Red wine was the perfect match for Beef Wellington. 

As Nash texted Hera, he asked abruptly, “How’s things going with the 

Eve family?” 

Melody mumbled through a mouthful of food, “I got in touch with the 

Four Elite Families today, and they’re all willing to hire the employees 

that the Eves fired. I’ve decided to make my final strike tomorrow and 

take down the Eve family in one fell swoop!” 

Nash stopped typing and gave Melody an astonished look. “The Eves are an elite family as well, and they should’ve become much more powerful after they acquired the Stone family’s businesses. The Four 

Elite Families should be more inclined to work with them instead.

Melody chewed on a slice of beef before taking a sip of French onion 

soup. “You don’t know Hera well enough yet. She and Eva have been 

causing havoc in Deco Electronics recently. She’s no longer the 

innocent girl she once was and will probably end up being Jonford’s 

next most powerful businesswoman!” 

She gave Nash a resentful look after saying that. “Aren’t you her 

husband? Why does it seem like you don’t know her at all?” 

An awkward expression appeared on Nash’s face. “I don’t really pay attention to what’s going on in the business world. Besides, we never talk about work. We have more sexual things to discuss!” 

Melody.spluttered and then asked, “Would you like a drink?” 

Nash shook his head. “I had a lot to drink just now, so I’ll pass!”

“Oh?” Nash was surprised.
