My Substitute CEO Bride (Nash Calicraft) novel Chapter 1238

Chapter 1238

Tina shot a look at Elsabeth and whispered, “Elsie, I think we should give them the room!”

Elsabeth was puzzled, but she followed Tina out of the office.

As soon as they were outside, Elsabeth asked eagerly, “Who is he?”

Austin replied, “Oh, come on. By the looks of it, who else can it be? I’m pretty sure he’s Melody’s first love!”

Elsabeth rolled her eyes at Austin and said, “I didn’t ask you.”

Elsabeth then looked at Tina for confirmation.

Tina replied awkwardly, “Well, I’m not sure because they never made their relationship public. If I remember correctly, they were deskmates

at university.

“At that time, Blaine was head over heels with our chancellor’s daughter, and word had it that he often borrowed money from Melody. I think they’re just friends.”

A hint of sadness flashed across Tina’s eyes.

She had a crush on Blaine during her university years.

However, she felt she was not good enough for him back then, so she kept her feelings to herself.

Meanwhile, in the office, Blaine gazed at Melody like a lovestruck

teenager and said, “You’re even more beautiful now, Melody!”

Chapter 1738

“Thanks. Why isn’t Jessie with you?”

Melody replied, keeping her voice devoid of emotion.

Blaine laughed stiffly and replied, “We divorced five years ago.”

Melody stared at him skeptically and asked, “Five years ago? So what, you guys were only married for like two years?”

Everybody knew Blaine and Jessie were madly in love during their university years. They were a model couple.

Blaine took a deep breath and said, “She became a completely different person after we got married. She was always angry over the tiniest things. Besides, I had just started a business at the time, so I didn’t have the time or energy to deal with her…”

Melody pursed her lips and said, “I see. So I assume you were the one who initiated the divorce in the end?”

Jessie was the chancellor’s daughter and the university’s beauty

queen.

Unlike Melody, Jessie had a warm personality and was always

smiling.

For that reason, almost every boy had a crush on her-including

Melody’s first love, Blaine.

Blaine sighed. “It takes two people to make a relationship work. If I were to focus on her, I’d be unable to give her financial stability. But if I were to focus on my work, I’d be neglecting her feelings instead!”

Melody smiled and said, “Well, it sounds like you’ve been through

some hard-times. What are you doing here anyway? Are you here to pay me back the money you borrowed?”

Melody lent him a lot of money during her university years, probably at least a few million dollars.

Blaine’s lips curled into a smile as he replied, “I founded my own

company in Balaria, with a net worth of around 300 billion dollars!”

Melody looked at him in confusion and said, “Uhh… So you’re here to

show off?”

He shook his head and smiled. “I don’t mean that. I just wanted to let you know I can give you the things you want. I’m even willing to let you take control of my company!”

Blaine did some digging and knew that Melody was still single and

unmarried.
