"Hahaha, how fun! This is so fun!" Nash called out.

Suddenly, a voice sounded behind him, "Oh, what a mischievous child."

Nash stared blankly behind him, drool dribbling off his mouth. It was Jake, who had a smirk on his face as he mocked, "You look like a fool, Nash. You're really weak."

Jake's words instantly infuriated Nash, who charged toward him like a cheetah. Jake was not an idiot, however, and he swiftly climbed a tree. He then swung some vines to lure Nash to where Sven and Brew were.

Sven and Brew looked toward the source of the sound and saw thick smoke erupt from an open space nearby. "What's that?" Brew asked, looking amazed.

"Marie! Quick, run back! Cover your mouth and nose!" Sven yelled as the intense black smoke billowed toward them.

He looked at the rapidly approaching smoke and then at Marie, who was running too slowly. The smoke was closing in on them fast—no, it was already upon them!

Sven rushed towards Marie, yelling, "Get down! Hold your breath!"

In the last second before the smoke engulfed them, Sven shielded Marie in his arms.

Jake emerged from the smoke wearing a gas mask.

"Well done. I didn't risk my life in vain to lure that guy over. This is a neurotoxic poison. Everyone on the field should be dead soon. I didn't expect to find supplies like that, though. How interesting."

Suddenly, there was the sound of glass shattering as cracks appeared on the sunlit ground. Seeing this, Jake immediately jumped in. It had to be a result of the game site overloading.

The smoke cleared, and Sven was still holding onto Marie tightly. A faint light appeared before his eyes all of a sudden, and he snapped them open. His breathing was in gasps as he breathed in the air in large gulps.

Thanks to his military training, he was able to save himself with the breath-holding technique he had picked up. Sven then looked at Marie in his arms, whose face was extremely pale.

“Marie! Marie!”

Just as Sven was about to burst into tears with Marie in his arms, she suddenly took a deep breath.
