Chapter 41
As soon as Lily got up, two boys walked up to her.
“Hi, I’m lan Fletcher. We’re classmates now. Just let me know if you need anything Our classmates are all quite nice and will help you out.” Ian extended a hand, a bright and boyish smile on his face.
Lily lifed her gaze. Perhaps because she had just woken up, she appeared unsmiling and quite scary. “Hi”
Her tone was polite, yet it sent chills down the others‘ spines.
Ian withdrew his hands sheepishly and flashed a rakish smile. “Are you going to get hunch? join us?”
“Sure.” Lily armed and started walking
At the back of the classroom, the short–haired girl from before saw tan leaving with Lily. She turned to the girl with long hair. “Why did lan leave with the new student? Doesn’t he always have lunch with you?
The short–haired girl was Alexis Armstrong. Her family ran a small business and was somewhat rich.
The long–haired girl was Heather Maynard from Lagersfield. The Maynard family was the third most affluent family in Lagersfield. However, they were different from the Fletcher family and the Martinez family.
The Maynards started out in the underworld. They were well–known to both law–abiding folks and criminals. Not even the Fletchers and the Martinezes dared to cross them. Heather was Ember Creek High School’s bully Alexis would usually follow her around, acting all high and mighty
“Lily’s sly. She’s just a pretty face, and fan is immediately taken with her. Heather, you can’t let her get away with this.” Alexis appeared indignant.
Heather glanced at Lily’s back, her cold eyes glinted briefly. She withdrew her gaze. “Let’s go.”
“Heather…”
Alexis had more to say, but Heather shot her a cold look, so she stopped.
Lagersfield was acity with busy traffic.
Even though Ember Creek High School was located in the city center, commuting back and forth would take an hour. It was too rushed, especially for seniors. Thus, most seniors
had lunch in school.
Lily and her group were slower to get to the cafeteria. It was packed when they arrived. The moment they entered, many eyes turned to them. Discussions immediately began to buzz through the room. “Damn, that girl is so pretty. What grade is she in? Why haven’t seen her before? “Me neither. She doesn’t look like a student at our school”
“Ian’s with her. Could she be lan’s girlfriend?”
“Woah! Jan’s girlfriend? Then what about Heather? Isn’t she going to flip out?
It was common knowledge that Heather liked tan. All the girls at school avoided speaking with lan alone. It would not end well for them otherwise.
