The Contract Lover (Nina Morrison and Lucien Gray) novel Chapter 168

Back to the company, just busy for a while, it is time to get off work.

"Nina, you are not here this afternoon. We have a department dinner today. I forgot to inform you." Department assistant Eva comes over, "It's in the Cozyroom near the company. Eat first, then sing."

"Eva, please tell Mr. Lauren that I won't go."

Nina is in a bit of a dilemma. Getting entangled with Lucien for a while in the afternoon, she has still some work to be finished. She intends to work overtime in the evening.

Eva hesitates for a moment, "OK, let me talk to him."

As soon as Eva leaves, Raymond Lauren's internal telephone comes in.

"Nina, why don't you join in the collective activities?"

Nina is very powerless. Only eating and singing, how can it rise to the height of collective activities?

Just about to open her mouth to explain, Raymond says again, "You have just joined the company, so you'd better take part in more group activities and get familiar with colleagues earlier."

Raymond pauses, "Besides, I also hope you can go."

He says the last words quickly and in a small voice, and Nina doesn't hear it clearly. She just thinks the first few words of Raymond are reasonable. She nods, "Well, I'll shut down the computer and go to dinner."

The Cozyroom is not far away from J&Y Group. Nina and her colleagues walk all the way, talking and laughing. Eva has booked two big rooms in advance. After the buffet, everyone begins to play dices, drink and sing.

Nina has been abroad for five years. She could hardly sing the domestic popular songs, so she carries a drink and listens to others quietly.

"Nina, why don't you sing?" Raymond comes and sits beside Nina.

"Em, I am not good at singing. Mr. Lauren, you sing very well!" Nina says sincerely. Raymond has just sung a very touching love song, and he is so devoted that everyone applauds.

"Is it?" There is a glimmer of smile in Raymond's eyes.

Nina suddenly feels a little uneasy. The mood in Raymond's eyes is too obvious. She is not dull, and she can feel it.

She looks elsewhere and nods smilingly, but she cannot help blushing a little.

Her cheeks are as white as jade, with two looming red halos on them, her eyelashes are dense and long, and her eyes are fluttering like butterfly wings. She looks very charming. Raymond looks at her fondly, and the love in his eyes increases.
