“Hello?” Lucien Gray answers the phone.
As soon as she hears his voice, Nina Morrison bursts into a rage, “Lucien Gray, are you crazy? The subway worker, Eddie, did you manipulate behind to make him lose his job?!”
“Yes. It's me.” Lucien Gray answers righteously and unruffled.
Nina Morrison freaks out, “Lucien Gray, if you are sick, just take the medicine! He doesn’t mess with you. Why do you make him fired! You... you are unreasonable!”
“Doesn't he like picking up girls? How nice for him to be out of work! There are so many girls on the street, he can hook up as he wishes!” Lucien Gray says lightly.
Nina Morrison can imagine his expression at this moment. With his eyes slightly narrowing, his eyebrows raise in disdain, such a scornful look.
Nina Morrison’s heart suddenly throbs, “No way, Lucien Gray, you are not making him fired because he hit on me, are you?”
There being silent for two seconds on the other side of the phone. Lucien Gray says after a while, “Nina Morrison, don’t be self-sentimental. I have shares of the subway of Cagliari. I just don't want to pay to bad employees who pick up girls during their working time. It's none of your business. Ok?”
So that is what it is. Her hand holding the phone shakes. Nina Morrison feels uncomfortable, but she still holds on, “Good. Even if you are a shareholder, it's easy for me to take it the wrong way! In the future, please don't meddle in anything around me! Any thing! Anybody!”
Lucien Gray is silent.
Nina Morrison waits two seconds, then stabs again, “You won't forget, will you? President Gray? Just a few days ago, you said that we will have nothing to do with each other, no more! I beg you to remember that!”
Before Lucien Gray responses, Nina Morrison hangs up the phone quickly and decisively!
Oh yeah! Finally win a round!
He hangs up on her three times, and she hangs up on him once. He gives her the cold shoulder, humiliates her. Finally she mercilessly satirizes him!
Now they are even. They really owe nothing to each other!
After two seconds of fun, Nina Morrison remembers that she has to send a picture of Nelson to Lucien Gray's email...
Shit! Why is there always no way to break up clean? Nina Morrison touches her forehead feeling a headache.
After copying the photos from her camera to the computer, Nina Morrison sees the last photo and hesitates to send it to Lucien Gray.
It is a picture of her aand Nelson. She doesn’t want to sent her picture to Lucien Gray. But it is such a great picture!
In the bright sunshine, Nelson snuggles in her arms, his smile is as pure as an angel. His face is full of happiness and contentment. This is one of the prettiest, cutest, and sweetest pictures of Nelson.
Somehow, Nina Morrison looks at Nelson in the photo with a sense of pride. Although he is not her son, she wants to show it to the world: Look, what a beautiful kid!
After struggling, Nina Morrison sends that photo.
After sending the photo, Nina Morrison deliberately checks her email, but not receives the reply from Lucien Gray, not even the automatic reply that the email had been received. Nina Morrison looks through her phone again. The inbox is empty. No text message comes in.
How rude! How impolite! Nina Morrison mutters a few angry words. She doesn’t want to call Lucien Gray to see if he receives or not. She takes a bath and goes to bed.
He already says, don't be self-sentimental! Why still she be such shameless?
Accompanying Nelson the whole today and coming back to dealing with so many things, Nina Morrison has already been tired. She lies on the bed, curses Lucien Gray and falls asleep soon.
Vaguely, she suddenly hears the mobile phone ringing at the bedside. Nina Morrison doesn’t turn on the lamp, but grabs the phone and answers.
“Hello?” Her voice is drowsy with slight nasal. It sounds childish and cute.
