Mysterious Little Wife novel Chapter 22

It was a little after two o'clock in the evening when Lacey woke up.

There was a faint odor of tobacco in the room. The surroundings were dim, with only the night lights faintly illuminated.

Lacey rubbed her head. She felt woozy.

"You're awake?" A magnetic voice suddenly rang out in the dimness.

Lacey shivered and subconsciously leaned against the bed.

With a single click, the lights in the room then switched on.

Only then could Lacey see who was in the room, Sam.

Sam thrust his hands into his pockets and moved closer to her, stopping once he reached the edge of the bed

"Why am I here? Where is this place?"

Lacey frowned and turned to face Sam, who stood straight.

There was an inexplicable chill about him, and it made her feel a little uneasy.

Wait a minute!

She looked around hurriedly. Wasn't this—

Her heart had risen to her throat.

Wasn't this the place she gave up her virginity!

The Presidential Suite of Attixs!

"Have you forgotten what you've done?" Sam flashed an indifferent grin. His eyes were ice-cold and piercing.

Lacey gave him a wary look. Why had he brought her here?

She frowned, trying to recall what had happened before.

As memories came flooding back, her eyes dimmed. She held the quilt tightly in both hands.

She remembered now.

Her mother was dead.

Bailey had slapped her hard, and Lillianna had put on a terrific show.

Everyone looked down their noses at her.

It all came back to her now.

Lacey bit the bottom of her lip. She felt pain inside.

Meanwhile, Sam couldn't help but lean closer to her as he stared into her sad eyes and quivering shoulders.
