"Wait, what?" Ethan and Pearl said simultaneously. 

No one had expected Katherine to say such a thing. 

What kind of a sister would make her younger brother quit his job and stay at home to take care of kids? Especially in such a big wealthy family. This was really just too unbelievable.

"Is there any problem?" Katherine still looked quite serious, "Obviously, Pearl's job is better and more promising than yours. So you should just stay home and take care of your wife and kids."

Then he turned to look at her parents, "Mom, Dad, what do you think of it?"

Enrique and Victoria were stunned for a moment. After thinking about their daughter's suggestion, they found it actually reasonable. It looked like they were about to agree.

Before they could say anything, Ethan said anxiously, "Mom, Dad, you're not gonna agree to that, are you?"

Victoria hesitated and said, "Your sister's suggestion are quite reasonable. Pearl is very busy and our family doesn't need you to make money for us. You should stay at home and take care of them. Do some houseworks as well."

"No, that's too ridiculous, isn't it? How could a man quite his job only to stay at home?"

"Fine." Katherine's tone were cold. She glanced at Ethan and said, "It's okay for you to disagree, but your bank card will be frozen, and you'll have to make money yourself."

"Katherine Louise! You..."

"I'm sorry, what did you just call me?"

"You've gone too far this time."

"I have given you a choice." Katherine slowly said. 

Ethan was so flustered that his face turned purple, "How can you make these decisions yourself. Pearl hasn't even agreed to this yet."

As Pearl was suddenly dragged into their quarrel, she almost choked on her food.

"Cough cough..."

"Pearl, are you okay?" Victoria quickly gave her a glass of water.

"Aunt, I'm fine." Pearl drank the water. She was thinking about how to revert the situation.

As she looked up, she saw Katherine looking at her, "Pearl, our family has always respected gender equality. So, what do you think of it?"

Pearl hesitated, and she said, "Since you have said that men and women are equal, then Ethan's opinions should be respected as well. In terms of professional aspects, he is no worse than I am."

She said those words sincerely. Even though Ethan was a playboy, he was still very serious about studying medicine. While he was studying abroad, he always busied himself in lab for days. 

Hearing this, Katherine didn't say anything.

The atmosphere gradually got awkward.

Pearl started to regret it. If she had known this would happen, she wouldn't have said that to help Ethan. She had already offended his sister. How would they get along with each other in the future?

After a while, Katherine said, "Alright, let him work for some time and we'll see."

She agreed so quickly that even Pearl was shocked. Then the topic was suddenly changed to something else. 

"That was just unbelievable." Ethan muttered beside her.

"What?" Pearl looked at him.

Ethan whispered in Pearl's ears, "My sister has never listened to anyone's opinions ever since childhood."
