Chapter 11
As Selina locked eyes with Lydia, she felt a rush of warmth. Thanks. Lydia. Til give it some thought” she said.
After they stuffed their gear into the sleek BMW, Selina’s phone buzzed. She pulled it out to see messages from Trevon–his mansion’s address and a snapshot. The photo showed her on stage at Starlight Club, guitar slung, basking in the spotlight. It was a killer shot, showing off her photogenic side perfectly.
Then another message popped up from Trevon [You killed it tonight)
Selina bit her lip, staring at Trevon’s shadowy profile pic, and replied: [Appreciate it.]
[See you tomorrow, I won’t be late.] Trevon typed. Then he sipped on a red wine batch Edwin had made, pondering if Selina was Charm.
Back at Lydia’s place, with Lydia freshening up, Selina got on her laptop and smoothly tapped into the Dark Web. Her username “Charm” stared back at her, and she zoned out for a beat.
Selina had kept her distance from the Dark Web for only a month in her new life, years in her previous one. It was a magnet for trouble, and when she got taken back by the Harvey family, she ditched the Dark Web, deleting her account to keep drama at bay. Now, logging back in, she braced herself. It was time to reconnect.
No rest for the weary, though. Selina had to look into Trevon. Their contract marrige put them in the public eye as a real couple. They played the part to keep their families off their backs. Selina needed the scoop on who Trevon really was.
Half an hour later, Selina leaned back, deep in thought, “CEO of Insight Group, youngest bigwig from the Brady family’s fourth branch, Trevon_”
Trevon’s impressive and good–looking appearance came to her mind. She first thought he was not just a regular guy. Now she was surprised to lind out be had such an important status and background. His posting a fake marriage ad seemed almost like a joke.
Instead of confronting him. Selina found Trevon kept to the shadows. Despite his heavyweight title, few knew the moguls face. In her previous life, she’d missed these details, caught up in the Harvey family’s drama, her life a total mess.
Meanwhile, Trevon was back at his villa, diving into the Dark Web himself. Even with has mad hacking skills, Charm, the top hacker, remained a mystery.
Charm had disappeared for a month, sparking wild speculation online
And now. Trevon, upon seeing Charm sign on again, interlaced his fingers, intrigued. It turned out his instant bride was far from ordinary.
The next afternoon at half past two, Selina and Lydia showed up at the local government service center with Selina’s passport in tow, set for their appointment
Lydia’s brow creased when there was no sign of the Harvey family. “Seriously. Selina, did they flake on us Give them a buzz; we need to get this done. There’s a whole lot more fun waiting for us after this.”
Selina sighed. “I can’t reach out to them. They didn’t leave me any way to get in touch No messaging app, no family group, and not a single phone number. It was as if they wanted nothing to do with her at all. To the Harvey family. Selina was like a virus, something they tried to shake off as quickly as posible.
“That’s cold! I just cant. Ugh, I’m so ticked.” Lydia was seething. She and her friends used to make such a fuss over Selina, and now the Harvey family was treating her like trash. Lydia was not okay with that at all.
“It’s okay, Lydia. That’s history now. If the Harvey family bails, I’ll move in with Trevon. I’ve got a Plan B”
“Selina, are you sure about Trevon? Not that he’ll hurt you, but what about his family drama?

“Lydia, I’m not worried about the Brady family. I told Trevon I’d stick to the Eake marriage plan as long as he doesn’t go back on the deal first”
It was nearing 3 PM, and there was still no sign of the Harvey family
Lydia began, “Selina, I need to hit the ladies‘ room. If the Harvey family ditches us, I teach them a good lesson next time I see them!”
“Got it smiled Selina
Left alone, Selma checked her watch. One more minute, and it would be 3 PM She texted Trevon: (No sign of the Harvey family. Looks like it’s a no–go.]
Right after she hit send, people began streaming into the service center. Selina watched, her eyes sharp, phone away now. Her birth parents, Quinton and Sara, entered, followed by her brother, Manuel, who shot her a look of pure scorn
