Chapter 21
Sara narrowed her eyes. “Mr. Brady, mind watching your tone? We didn’t…
Trevon cut her off, cool as ice. “I know the score. You’ve got your golden boy in there with the cops, not my wife, he shot back, not giving an inch. “Selina” She doesn’t need to think twice about some Lamborghini. She could buy the whole lot if she felt like it, thanks to me.” He let that hang, dripping with contempt. “So what’s your angle? Thinking Trevon’s wife needs to pull a stunt to shop for cars? Seriously? His words sliced through the tension, aimed straight at Manuel.
Manuel clammed up, his face clouding over, but he stayed quiet, his gaze flickering down, unsure.
Sara and Ashley were taken aback by Trevon’s bally move. They couldn’t wrap their heads around how Trevon, young, good–looking, and rolling in cash–he was a Brady, a name that rang bells in Forbes–could fall for Selina. She was just a simple country girl who skipped out on her powerful family. No college degree, no fancy international studies–what did she have after dropping her family name? Selina was a mystery to them.
Ashley was green with envy. Through her fake tears, she sobbed to Selina, “I’m so, so sorry. It’s all on me. If I didn’t make you so jealous, you’d still be with us, things wouldn’t be so messed up. Why am I even Irving. Mon! I hate myself so much her voice trailed off into weeping as she threw herself into Sara’s arms, her sobs reaching Trevon, trying to make Selina look like the bad guy.
Lydia was ready to lose her temper over Ashley’s poor me routine. If they weren’t in a police station, she’d have shown Ashley what a real drama was. ‘Such a princess act–talk about bad luck? she sneered inwardly
“People serious about ending their lives don’t make a show of it, Trevon interrupted, fed up. They just go, quietly–no big scene, no pity party. He turned to Selina and continued, “I kind of feel sorry for you having such a sister. Forget about her. I brought you something. Let’s go see,”
“Sure.” Selina agreed, heading out with Trevan. She’d seen right through Ashley’s act long ago. Remembering she was actually related to that was enough to make her thankful for her own tough past. Raised by the right person, not ending up like Ashley–that was a stroke of luck.
Lydia was mentally giving Trevon a round of applause. That was how a CEO should art–cool, clear–headed. The Harvey family had no clue. getting played by Ashley’s sugar–sweet art, while Trevon nailed it. Hats off to this guy!
Ashley was shell–shocked. Trevon had just to through her perfect act that everyone always bought–why did it have to be him! He was the one guy she liked, and now she was unraveling.
“Wait.. Trevon!” Ashley tried to chase after them but halted at the station entrance. “What is that she blurted.
Outside, a sleek sports car stole the show, its eye–catching lines turning heads and stopping people in their tracks, phones out for a map. Next to this beauty, any Lamborghini would just fade into the background, totally outclassed
Lydia could hardly believe her eyes. She thought, ‘Holy smokes This car is insane! It makes my car look like a little kid’s plaything
“There it is the only Bugatti Veyron like it in the whole country! Trevon’s got his hands on it!” Caleb gaped from a distance, ogling the car. This Bugatti Veyron wasn’t just any set of wheels–it was practically a trophy of wealth and status, With those sleek silver lines, it was every guy’s dream.
Even Manuel couldn’t hide his shock. He’d been drooling over this car ever since he saw it in a magazine–total game–changer. The only one in Clusia and he never figured he’d actually see it in person, let alone touch it. And now, the big reveal–the mystery buyer who shelled our 65 million dollars was none other than Trevon
“Babe, I heard Lydia got you a Lamborghini, but I haven’t gotten you any wheels myself. This Bugatti Veyron–it’s yours,” Trevon said to Selina, nonchalant as if he was giving away a pen, nor a limited edition sports car that cost a fortune. Selina couldn’t help but stare at him, surprised
Gently playing with Selina’s hair, Trevon murmured, “Babe, do I treat you right or what?
Anyone who knew Trevon would’ve been picking their jaws off the floor. Trevon Brady, smiling! And looking dut good? Whispering sweet nothing? Holy cow, was this the same dude who was always so high–and–mighty? Just what did Selina have that he was so hooked!
“Thanks, sweetheart, Selina responded with a dazzling smile that outshined everything around her, even making Trevon squint at her glow. Damn. she’s beautiful, he exclaimed to himself.
“Want to take it for a spin?”
“Sure!”
