Chapter 22
Sara began, “Look, forget about them. I don’t believe for a second that Trevon is truly into Selina, Hus, the Brady family will never welcome her if she doesn’t have the Harvey family behind her. First things first, we’ve gotta deal with your brother’s disaster.”
Sara’s words were a balm to Ashley. She recomposed herself, convinced that Trevon was just messing around with Selina. To Trevor, who was loaded, flipping a luxury car to someone like Selina was just play money. That was the man Ashley was after–generous to a fault, even with his things. No wonder Ashley found him so iningaing.
Selina guided the car down a quiet side street. Out of nowhere, Lydia piped up, “Okay, I’ll hop out here, Selina.”
“Lydia, do you need a lift home?” asked Selina
“Please, I can handle myself,” Lydia insisted. She gave Trevon a stern look and said, “You seem smart, so I won’t lecture you. But if you Selina while I’m not around, you’ll have me to deal with,”

“Don’t worry, Lydia. Selina’s safe with me, Trevon assured her. Lydia, confident in his promise, swaggered off with her hands casually in her pockets
Trevon lounged comfortably, hands locked and legs crossed, enjoying the spaciousness of the passenger seat, and snuck a peek at Selina. “So, hone’s
the ride!”
Selina replied with a quiet “Hmm and kept driving toward the Brady manor. Despite her composure, the twinkle in her eye gave away her thrill. The Bugatti’s engine rumble was music to her ears, and even Selina’s heartbeat quickened.
Trevon noticed and let a sly smile slap. “Handling the lawsuit against the Harvey family, you got any lawyer in mind?” he whispered.
“No worries, that’s my light. And trust me, the Harveys won’t know what hit them!” Selina’s grip on the wheel tightened, her gaze sharp with determination. She was done being the Harvey family’s doormat. Time to flip the script and make them pay up.
Trevon couldn’t help but steal glances at Selina’s radiance, bathed in the sunlight pouring through the windows–she was a sight to behold. He actually liked seeing her fiery sparit, he found her compelling.
Once they got back and stepped out of the car, Selina offered the keys to Trevon.
With a hand in his pocket, Trevon looked a bit peeved. “I said it’s yours.”
“Really! This is the only one here. No regrets later?”
“Look, when I say something it’s as good as done. Even in a con
a contract marriage, you’re mine for the year. Money’s a non–issue for me” Trevon leaned in and added in a low voice, “As my wife, for everyone to see, you should have the best
“Thanks” Selina acknowledged it without fuss. Pushing all thoughts aside, she had to admit she adored that car. Just holding the wheel, hitting the gas, and watching the speed climb was a rush. It definitely lived up to the hype of being the country’s sole special edition Bugatti Veyron,
She promised. “Remember, no perks without playing the part. For the next year, Ill be the wife you need.”
wife
Trevon responded with a smile. “So, shouldn’t we be all lovey–dovey and arm in arm walking into the house? Get the word out fast about my wi Save me from my nosy relatives trying to fix me up.”
Selina’s grin grew a hair wider, and she confidently hooked her arm in Trevon’s. Together, they strolled towards the house, a picture–perfect couple. After grabbing dinner with Trevon, Selina made her way back to her room. A text from Lydia soon buzzed her phone: [Hey Selina, should we bring Malcolm into this? He’s pretty much the go–to lawyer in Mumzik.|
Selina: [There’s no need. It’s just a tiny hiccup. No reason to bother Malcolm with it]
Lydia: [Oops, was just chatting g with Malcolm and sent him your message by mistake
Selina was rendered speechless. Immediately, her phone began to blow up with frantic calls from Malcolm Weber. Rubbing her temples, Selina hit the answer button. Malcolm,”
“What’s all this chaos about, Selina? wondered Malcolm
Cornered, Selina caved and filled in Malcolm, her older and way more accomplished fellow student
Malcolin was livid. “Those Harvey jerks Picking on my dearest Selina. Don’t worry about the lawsuit, Selina, I’m on it. I’m booking a flight back to Sokovi to sort it out”
“Malcolm, actually…” But before she could finish, the line went dead. Malcolm had hung up, leaving Selina lost for words. She was touched by his

quick action, but really, this lawsuit was small potatoes. Getting Malcolm involved felt like using a hazooka to swat a fly.
Shaking her head at Malcolm’s warrior–charging–into–banle routine, Selina shot a text to Lydia: Can you believe Malcolm’s a lawyer!) His hotheaded nature was practically the opposite of the ice–cold precision one’d expect from a legal eagle
