Never Again Yours (Isadora and Magnus) novel Chapter 478

“Mr. Fitzgerald, the bodyguards assigned to your wife were blocked by a group of men who appeared out of nowhere. By the time they handled the situation, the Rolls-Royce was gone. We just confirmed—Mrs. Fitzgerald isn’t at The Vaughan Group either.”

In other words, Isadora had vanished.

Victor’s fingers, long and elegant, froze mid-motion. His handsome face darkened, voice like a cold snap. “What do you mean, she’s not at The Vaughan Group?”

Kemp kept his head bowed, speaking respectfully. “Sir, rest assured, I’ve already doubled our search efforts for Mrs. Fitzgerald.”

Victor snatched up his phone and immediately dialed Isadora’s number.

The line rang, each cold, mechanical tone echoing in the silence—no one picked up.

The last trace of warmth left Victor’s eyes. He didn’t hesitate. He stood, striding swiftly toward the door.

Kemp rushed to block his path, blurting out, “Mr. Fitzgerald, you can’t leave! If you walk out now, this meeting will fall apart.”

“Move.”

Victor’s voice was glacial, so cold it seemed to freeze the very air.

He fixed Kemp with a chilling stare. “Since when do you give me orders?”

Kemp shuddered beneath that gaze and had no choice but to step aside.

Victor swept his icy gaze across the boardroom, issuing a curt command. “Keep me updated on everything. Immediately.”

With that, he made to leave.

Kemp wanted to weep. How was he supposed to handle this mess alone?

He could practically feel the boardroom full of sharks circling.

Virgil, watching Victor’s retreating back, was almost vibrating with excitement.

Go on, just walk away!

If you leave now, Victor, you’ll never get your position back!

Just then, Victor’s phone chimed with a new message. He paused, glanced down, and opened it.

Whatever he saw made his brow furrow in displeasure.

After a long moment, Victor—every inch the composed, aristocratic leader—turned and walked back to his seat.

Kemp, whose face had been clouded with dread, instantly brightened at Victor’s return.

He’s…he’s staying?
