Never Again Yours (Isadora and Magnus) novel Chapter 479

The room fell completely silent.

Truth be told, everyone there understood the reality—Victor’s abilities were nothing short of remarkable.

In just a few short years, he’d propelled the Fitzgerald Group’s assets into an entirely new league. Their own dividends had multiplied several times over—an achievement far beyond the reach of most.

Victor’s jet-black eyes swept lazily across the gathering.

At last, his gaze came to rest on Virgil.

Under the man’s piercing stare, Virgil’s fists clenched at his sides, jaw tightening as he bowed his head.

Victor’s lips curled into a faint, dismissive smirk. “Well, since no one has anything to add, I’ll take it that everyone’s satisfied with this year’s annual report.”

The moment his words landed, thunderous applause erupted throughout the conference room.

A beat later, Victor’s tone leveled out, calm and unhurried. “Now, regarding my upcoming marriage to the head of the Vaughan Group, I’ve decided to transfer twenty percent of Fitzgerald Group’s shares to Isadora.”

The room exploded in shocked whispers.

Everyone exchanged stunned glances, unable to process the bombshell announcement.

The Fitzgerald Group’s shares were tightly held within the family—a highly centralized ownership structure. The value behind that twenty percent was almost unimaginable. It could buy out a hundred Vaughan Groups. But more than that, it signaled Isadora’s formal entry into the very heart of the financial elite.

A few shareholders wrestled with the urge to speak up. One man had just opened his mouth when Victor’s sharp gaze swept over him. He immediately shrank back, lowering his hand.

Victor arched an eyebrow. “Anyone else object to my marriage now?”

All around, people kept their heads down, seething in silence.

How could they object, when he was willing to back a woman with so much of his own capital?

And so, the consortium meeting wrapped up after the vice president’s closing remarks. One by one, the attendees shuffled out, dejected and subdued.

“Uncle.”

Victor’s voice, slow and deliberate, called out to Virgil, who was just about to leave.
