The sight made a wave of jealousy wash over Matthew.

Kent glanced up and caught sight of the two figures on the second floor. He could not help but worry for Hudson.

Matthew climbed up to the second floor and found Hudson and Lucy sitting across from each other, laughing and talking.

He walked over to them, his face stormy with anger.

Lucy saw him coming and quickly smiled. She waved him over to join them.

Hudson noticed Matthew approaching and let out a little laugh. He could tell from Matthew's face that he was feeling really jealous.

Matthew sat down beside Lucy and looked at Hudson with a frosty stare. "Mr. Xender, does it really take this long to show my wife around the office? And you have to eat together too?"

Hudson saw the look on Matthew's face, turned to Lucy, and shrugged his shoulders. He threw up his hands like he did not know what to say.

Lucy turned to Matthew and gave him a little poke. "Mr. Xender was a huge help to me this morning, and he's even going to use my first draft. So, let's treat him to lunch, okay?"

Matthew felt his jealousy bubble up a little more at her words, but he kept quiet.

The two men stared each other down for a short while.

Lucy could not stand the tension anymore and said she needed to use the bathroom. That was when Hudson finally said, "Lucy is incredibly talented. I'm so grateful you brought someone like her to my company."

Matthew relaxed a little and replied with a smile, "You're just working together, that's all." Hudson did not say anything back and just kept eating.
