Harmony couldn’t help but chuckle as she said, “Let’s see how things go this afternoon!”
Yunna had been waiting at the door for over ten minutes when Ezekiel, dressed in a sleek black suit, appeared. Upon seeing Yunna, his eyebrows furrowed instantly.
“Boss, I’ll join you for breakfast and give you a report on last night’s work,” Yunna suggested. Ezekiel declined outright, “No need. I have a breakfast appointment with Miles. He will report to me.”
Yunna immediately looked upset. “Boss, am I not performing well enough?”
Ezekiel’s gaze swept over her coldly. “From now on, you’re no longer my assistant. I’ll have Miles draw up your termination contract.”
Yunna was completely taken aback. She hadn’t expected Harmony’s words earlier to come true. She was really being fired. Had Harmony whispered something to the Boss last night?
“Boss, I haven’t made a single mistake at work in the past three years. You can’t just fire me like this. I know you best, and only I can ensure your work goes smoothly,” Yunna quickly asserted her value.
“Miss Yunna, whether your work is valuable to me is for me to decide. You will be compensated fairly. Please hand over your duties to Miles for the time being,” Ezekiel responded coldly and left.
Yunna gasped for breath. She had never imagined that her eager anticipation of working here and developing a better relationship with Ezekiel would end just a few days after her arrival. And all of this was caused by Harmony. Yunna bit her red lips, her eyes flashing with unwillingness and resentment.
Soon, Miles contacted her and came to find her.
Yunna opened the door. Still wanting to stay, she pleaded with Miles, “Miles, help me. I really want to stay and work for the boss.”
“I warned you before. You can stay here if you want, but don’t delude yourself into thinking you can have more than a professional relationship with the boss. It’s your own fault for not handling it well.”
