Elisa had adopted a new attitude. She no longer cared about the opinions of others.
How could one possibly silence public opinion?
Furthermore, she was living her own life, so why should she concern herself with what others think?
However, Gareth remained resolute. "If you take a taxi, I'll ride with you. If you walk, I'll walk with you."
In other words, he would follow her no matter what she chose to do.
Elisa was taken aback as she looked at Gareth, but she knew that was just the kind of person he was. She knew he was a man of his word, and she felt powerless against him.
"So, what about reaching out to Linda? Weren't you going to prove something? Let's see just how sincere you really are." Elisa unlocked her phone, found Linda's current number, and promptly showed it to Gareth.
She knew Gareth had an excellent memory.
However, she hesitated for a moment in front of him before finally taking back her phone. "Did you get it? When you invite her out, remember to call me as well. I need to go home now. Just let me have some peace."
"No." Gareth firmly held onto Elisa. "I've already explained the reasons to you. There are many people like Baxter out there, and I'm worried something might happen to you. I can't let you go alone right now."
Elisa stared at his hand, her gaze determined, wanting Gareth to let go. But Gareth didn't. He knew Elisa was tempted to strike him, but he also knew she would never actually do it.
Unfortunately, he was mistaken. Elisa applied slight pressure to his vein, and though Gareth felt the force, he didn't furrow his brow.
