Bringing Up Gareth
At this moment, Elisa and Gareth needed a catalyst to reconcile their differences.
Elisa shook her head. "Grandma, it's not about work. It's a personal matter. I need to pack my things now. Thank you for the chicken broth."
Saying this, Elisa walked over.
In reality, she was considering having her grandmother take the chicken broth back home. She needed to pack and wasn't in the mood for soup. However, it wouldn't be right to waste the elderly woman's kind gesture.
Elisa still decided to open the thermal flask, and she was immediately greeted by the rich aroma of chicken broth.
Elisa took a small sip. It wasn't greasy and tasted delicious.
Seeing Elisa enjoying her meal and drinking comfortably, Julia was extremely satisfied. "Liz, if you like it, come to my place. If you don't have time, I can deliver it to you. These are hens raised by me. The meat is much better than those fed with store-bought feed!"
"Grandma, when did you start raising chickens?" Elisa was very surprised when she heard Julia mention raising chickens.
Hearing Elisa's question, Julia immediately responded with a hearty laugh. "Well, recently, you and Gareth haven't had time to visit me, and neither have Gareth's parents. We old folks always need to find something to pass the time. Raising chickens, tending to the plants, it all helps to pass the time. But, on another note, Liz, are you packing up to go somewhere far away? How many days will you be gone?"
Julia certainly didn't forget what Elisa had just said.
Elisa hummed in agreement, not hiding anything from her. "My uncle called me. I need to go to his place. Grandma, you're old and it's not easy for you to get around. Please don't wander about. If anything happens to you, I really can't bear the responsibility."
"My dear child, are you worried that something might happen to me here? Or are you afraid that others will cause trouble for you? If you're scared, I will take care of everything. Also, you weren't like this with me a few days ago. Did you have a quarrel with Gareth?"
