“Liz, I understand that what has happened in the past has left an indelible mark in your heart. I—”
“Stop telling me all this. I don't want to hear it anymore.” Before Gareth could finish, Elisa quickly interrupted him, her expression stern.
“I've done everything I can to help you. If you choose not to trust others, that's your problem. This will be the last time I'm massaging you.”
After she finished speaking, Elisa got up and sat on the couch, maintaining a certain distance from Gareth.
Before long, a call from Rachel came in.
Seeing Rachel's number flashing on the phone screen, Elisa was taken aback but picked it up immediately.
“Rach?” Elisa asked uncertainly.
Ever since the car accident, Rachel had been in a coma.
Upon hearing Elisa's voice, Rachel was furious. “Elisa, I've been looking for you from the moment I woke up. Yet, look at you! Why didn't you respond to my messages or answer my calls? Have you forgotten about me because you're in a relationship with Gareth?” Rachel asked, her voice filled with accusation.
Elisa quickly denied, “I'm not in a romantic relationship with him. The stuff you sent me—”
I just saw them.
From the moment she got off the plane to the casino, Winslow had made several calls to her. Coupled with everything that had happened around her, Rachel's messages had inevitably been pushed to the bottom.
Rachel simply didn't believe Elisa's excuse and even scoffed. “Do you really think I would believe you? You always claim that you have nothing to do with Gareth, yet you're always with him. I know it! This man has sway over you all along! Y-You! Argh, I'm so mad at you!”
The more Rachel spoke, the less she could control herself.
