Rachel raised her head to meet Vincent's gaze.
For Vincent, this was an incredible joy. Rachel's question indicated that her feelings for him were starting to change.
He declared confidently, "Why should I be afraid? I am willing to give up everything for you. I want to earn lots of money for you, to improve your life. I don't rely on the Shane family anymore, and I don't want their wealth. I have the ability to provide for you now!"
Vincent wasn't the only one capable of providing for Rachel. She had money too, so her life wouldn't be too difficult.
However, if Vincent chose to marry her, he would have to give up everything from the Shane family.
"I always thought you were just playing around with being a lawyer," she said. Given Vincent's status, she assumed he would eventually return to his original business after getting bored.
To her surprise, Vincent's attitude was incredibly determined.
"You think my feelings for you are just a game. You never imagined that I was serious. You're moved by my proposal, but you're afraid of affecting me."
Rachel chose not to respond to his blunt remarks.
Not only was he straightforward, but his words also struck her heart directly.
She was not only afraid of affecting Vincent, but also concerned about the complications that could arise from their relationship.
"Rachel, these are not issues. The real issue is that we need to be together. I don't want to see you troubled by these matters anymore. If you're unwilling to marry me, I can be your personal bodyguard. I promise to protect you from any troubles." If they didn't marry, he would become her personal bodyguard.
A renowned lawyer reduced to a mere bodyguard...
The thought struck Rachel and left her astonished. "Aren't you afraid that someone might deliberately report you?"
