"Did I ever agree to be your girlfriend?" Rachel asked, giving Vincent a dismissive glance.
Looking puzzled, Vincent queried, "What are you trying to say? Should I continue pursuing you? Haven't I already spent enough time expressing my feelings? Or do you have other requirements?"
His gaze on Rachel was intense and sincere. His message was clear: he was ready to fulfill any of her wishes or demands, should she express them.
Rachel found his earnestness amusing and playfully teased him, "It seems like if I asked you to drop dead right here, you might just do it."
Vincent was momentarily lost for words.
However, he quickly responded with a smile, "Then you must be the one I want to be with the most. I'd do anything to make you agree to be with me. But if I had to die for you, who would be by your side then? Wouldn't that just benefit someone else?"
Rachel laughed. "What could I possibly ask of you that's so extreme? I certainly wouldn't wish for your death." But before she knew it, Vincent had already taken her hand.
"Alright, it's settled then. You're my girlfriend, and there's no backing out now! You can order me around, get mad at me, or ignore me, but you're not allowed to talk about breaking up!" Vincent laid out his terms.
Rachel was torn between amusement and exasperation. "What is this? Are you forcing a relationship where breaking up isn't allowed?"
