“I forgot my manners. I shouldn’t have said that…” Kira’s eyes were filled with guilt. She couldn’t help but continue. “Liz, I think that you’re great. I don’t want you to be tormented, and I just wanted you to be on your guard ahead of time, but you’re amazing. I didn’t need to say it.”
Elisa smiled and nodded. “Mm. I understand. You don’t have to explain it to me, Kira.”
Kira instantly smiled and nodded back. “Mm. I understand. Please look at the documents when you have the time. If there’s anything you need, let me know any time.”
Elisa nodded. “Alright.”
Kira didn’t stay any longer. She talked for a while more before she left.
Elisa stared for a while at the door that Kira had shut before she started working.
When the day was over, Elisa felt that time had passed in the blink of an eye.
In the week that followed, Elisa visited Julia three times. She would let Gareth know each time, but she never marked how many times she had left. After all, from how she saw it, it wasn’t a task. She intended to visit Grandma frequently.
And her actions put Julia in a good mood. Julia was even filled with anticipation.
But…
Elisa seemed to see a complicated expression flicker across Julia’s eyes once in a while. There were a few times when she wanted to ask Julia about it but restrained herself and kept quiet.
Elisa thought that Grandma must have something that she wanted to say, but it wasn’t convenient for her to do so, so Elisa pretended that she didn’t see anything. She didn’t want to make things difficult for Grandma.
After all, she was in a good place. Everything was going smoothly.
