Sheena couldn’t help but sigh. “That’s right, Mrs. Semoa. Carle really can’t be agitated any more, but if things continue this way, he will find out the truth. I hope that he is mentally prepared for it and that he won’t suddenly break down from suddenly finding out…”
Rachel pursed her lips and drank a sip of orange juice. She couldn’t help but say in exasperation, “Carle loves too deeply. He’s had feelings for Liz for so many years and has never changed. If he turns around, he will see that there’s someone else who loves as deeply as he does. There’s someone who has liked him all along.”
Holly’s eyes flashed slightly. Following the direction of Rachel’s gaze, her gaze fell on Sheena. Seeing Sheena look down unconsciously, Holly was sure that Rachel was talking about her.
She looked at Sheena in astonishment. “Sheen…?”
Sheena came to her senses. “Hmm?”
Holly was sure of it!
Looking at Sheena’s flushed complexion and concealed awkwardness in her eyes, Holly smiled lightly. “Sheen likes my son?”
Sheena’s expression changed slightly. She opened her mouth subconsciously to say something, but she couldn’t say a single word.
Holly was a little surprised. She looked at Sheena and smiled. “I previously thought that you didn’t want to date. I never imagined that there’s someone you like. Why don’t you be my daughter-in-law?”
Rachel and Elisa were slightly astounded, while Sheena was stupefied. It was a while before she could come to her senses, and she unconsciously said, “Mrs. Semoa…”
Holly smiled. “I can’t let fertile water flow into another field. I never knew about it. I’ve watched the three of you grow up, so I know your characters well.”
Astonishment flickered across Sheena’s eyes, but in the next instant, she smiled bitterly. “I was never the one that Carle likes. I don’t want to impose.”
She hung her head after she said that, holding back the hurt in her eyes.
“You can take the horse to the water, but you cannot make it drink. But you must take the horse there before you know if the horse will drink,” Holly said calmly.
