Still, finding out about Rachel’s feelings comforted her sadness.
Holly liked Elisa, Rachel, and Sheena.
She would be happy to have any one of them as her daughter-in-law.
Unfortunately, she did not have two sons. Otherwise, she would have wanted both Rachel and Sheena as her daughters-in-law.
After chatting for a while, Holly smiled, “All right, I’ve been out for too long and need to head back to the company. Thank you for taking care of Carle. It must have been tiring. Let me treat you all to lunch another time.”
“Haha, it’s nothing, Mrs. Semoa. We are Carle’s close friends and grew up with him.” Rachel was more excitable and did not find anything wrong with what she said.
On the other hand, Elisa wished to avoid a misunderstanding, and Sheena was too embarrassed to speak.
Holly smiled and chatted with them for a little longer before leaving.
When Holly was with Elisa and the others, she did her best to appear approachable, so they would not feel uncomfortable with her.
Once Holly left, Elisa, Rachel, and Sheena got up quickly. It was nearly time to return for their afternoon shifts.
Rachel looked at Elisa and patted her shoulder. “How do you feel? Do you feel relieved?”
Elisa pursed her lips. “I can’t relax until it is over.”
After all, Carle was Elisa’s friend, and she could not bear to hurt her friend. She would have dealt with the matter decisively if this were in the past. However, Carle had injured his head, so Elisa did not dare to do the same this time.
Sheena could not help but sigh. Then, she comforted Elisa gently, “Looking at the way things are, I believe everything will improve gradually. Since Mrs. Semoa knows the truth, she will gradually find ways to get Carle to face reality. We only have to cooperate with her.”
Elisa nodded in resignation. “I suppose that’s all we can do for now. Anyway, it’s getting late. I have to return to the company.”
“Sure, take care.”
