However, Xenia dismissed the thought as quickly as it came.
If any more people died, the police were sure to start suspecting her. She needed to stop this now.
She quickly typed out a reply. "I've already sent you the money. Stop bugging me!"
She wanted nothing more to do with this person, nor did she want anyone to find out she was related to Betty's death!
Just then, Gordon knocked on her door. "Ms. Liddell, Betty's family came looking for you. Thankfully, I managed to keep them out. It would be bad if they spoke to Mr. Frank and said inappropriate things."
"Thanks for keeping their mouths shut, Gordon. Please make sure they don't babble to Frank. You know he's been treating me differently lately."
Xenia was on edge now, fearful that her relationship with that mysterious person might be discovered.
Frank and Lucas didn't treat her the same anymore, so she had to get back in their favor.
After Gordon left, Xenia immediately went over to the room next door and overheard Lucas and Frank talking.
"Frank, what are we going to do now that Donovan's decided to cut ties with Noelle?"
"He didn't really mean that. I plan to focus on the company's operations in Yasnia from now on since Noelle will be moving there. That way, I can stay closer to her."
"Then, what about Xenia? She still has to repeat the year."
"She can manage with the servants and drivers around. She doesn't need us for that."
Frank's attitude toward Xenia had turned noticeably cold. "In two weeks, there'll be an artificial intelligence investment conference. It's an important opportunity for us, so we have to make sure we're well-prepared."
Hearing this, hatred flashed in Xenia's eyes.
She refused to repeat a year. She didn't want to fall behind Noelle.
Right now, her only hope was to ask for Donovan's help.
…
After ending her livestream, Noelle contacted Firestorm's employees and returned all the gifts she received from Frank.
