No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 198

When Noelle saw the house she had lived in for so many years, a mix of emotions surged through her. It was the first time she had returned since moving out.

The car pulled up outside the Liddell residence. Cedric glanced at her and asked, "Do you want me to come with you?"

"No, I'll handle it myself. If anything happens, I'll call you," Noelle said, feeling calmer with him nearby.

She got out of the car and walked straight to the door. When she entered the access password, it came back as incorrect.

A mocking smile played on her lips. She rang the doorbell and soon saw Gordon walking out.

"When did the password get changed?" she asked with a sarcastic smile.

Standing by the door, Gordon responded indifferently, "Ms. Liddell, Mr. Donovan has instructed that you are not to step foot into the Liddell house without his permission. The password was changed to Ms. Quigley's birthday."

Noelle recalled the mishap with the stationary during her exam—it was probably Gordon's doing.

In her previous life, he had always sided with Xenia, bad-mouthing her in front of her brothers.

Noelle stepped forward and kicked the door open. "My parents bought this house. I can come back whenever I want. You're just a servant—know your place!" Her tone was cold.

Without sparing Gordon another glance, she walked straight inside.

Gordon was taken aback by Noelle's sudden change in demeanor. He quickly followed, trying to stop her. "Ms. Liddell, I'm just following Mr. Donovan's orders!"

As Noelle entered the living room, Frank happened to come downstairs.

"Noelle, you're back!" he said, his face lighting up with joy. "Why don't you stay for dinner? I'll have the kitchen prepare something special for you. It's been so long since we ate together."

"No thanks. Where's my acceptance letter?" Noelle's expression was cold, devoid of any warmth.

Frank gave a bitter smile. "It's in the study. Let's go upstairs to get it."

Noelle followed him but was surprised when he led her to her old room instead.
