As Noelle finished speaking, Xenia covered her mouth and laughed mockingly.
"Noelle, don't be so naive. Donovan has always had a good relationship with Greene Corporation. They've already built strong ties. This meeting is just a formality," Xenia said with a smug smile.
Since arriving in Yasnia, Xenia had witnessed the splendor of the big city and realized just how backward her hometown was. She had no intention of returning to repeat a year in her small town and was determined to stay in the big city and marry a wealthy heir.
As the elevator door opened, Xenia linked arms with Donovan as they stepped inside. She glanced back at Noelle with a look of superiority. "You might want to wait for the next elevator. After all, our companies are not on the same level!"
Donovan maintained a cold expression and didn't even glance at Noelle. He was still fuming over the incident where Noelle deliberately tampered with the company's firewall, causing him significant losses and nearly turning him into a laughingstock in the industry.
Now that things had finally stabilized, Donovan vowed to make Noelle suffer. He envisioned her crawling back to the Liddell family, begging for forgiveness. When that day came, he would make sure she paid dearly.
Outside the elevator, Noelle turned to the company manager. "Don't worry. Investments are based on fair competition. Greene Corporation's business decisions aren't about personal connections. As long as our product is excellent, they'll choose us."
The manager nodded. "You're right. Let's head to the private room and not keep our guests waiting."
Noelle followed her colleagues into the reserved room. It wasn't long before representatives from Greene Corporation's investment department arrived.
Their lead was a middle-aged man in a sharp suit, looking every bit like a business elite.
After sitting down, he said, "Sorry, everyone. I won't be able to stay long. Mr. Greene is coming upstairs, and I need to go up and offer my respects."
After all, the legendary Mr. Greene held such a lofty status that ordinary people rarely had the privilege of meeting him. Today presented a truly rare opportunity.
The manager quickly introduced Noelle. "Mr. Cooper, this is our company's lead researcher. She's young but very capable."
