No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 40

Chapter 40

Cedric and Noelle returned to their apartment complex.

When Noelle logged into her account, she received a notification saying that someone had sent her a friend request. She glanced at the username and realized that it was actually Lucas.

She had only rejected Lucas‘ request to join his team a few days ago, so she never expected that her arrogant brother would contact her himself.

Noelle did not accept his friend request but proceeded to team up with Cedric to clear a dungeon.

They completed the round with three other random players. Once the round was over, she received another friend request.

She then realized it was from the player who had joined them in defeating the previous dungeon. Remembering that the player had been quite skilled, she accepted the friend request.

Almost immediately, she received a message from that player.

The message read, “Hello. I’m Lucas Liddell, the captain of Team Luminark. I believe you’re a talented gamer. Would you like to join our team? We can discuss the terms and conditions later.”

  • Noelle frowned. “Why is he everywhere?”

She never thought that Lucas would send her another friend request via his alternate gaming

account.

Cedric turned to look at her. “What’s wrong?”

Noelle replied, “Lucas just used his alternate account to invite me to his team. However, he doesn’t know who I am.”

After all, she was also using an alternate account.

Cedric glanced at her. “If his team doesn’t find a talented player to join them, they’ll lose the first match during the finals.”

“That’s why he’s so anxious now. He’s a prideful man. He’s probably reluctant to invite those well–known players. So, he can only resort to recruiting rookies to train.”

Noelle understood Lucas too well. After all, Team Celestial under the Greene family from Beville was too strong. In her past life, she could not even guarantee that she would be able to win the championships if Magnus, the captain of Team Celestial, hadn’t dropped out at the last minute.

Noelle said, “Team Celestial is very strong. I heard that King had personally trained their team leader, so he’s very skillful.”

“He’s alright. He can’t even master the 12–hill combo,” Cedric replied.

Noelle looked at him in shock. “Not everyone car master the 12–hit combo.”

“That’s because…” She paused when she realized that she had nearly had a slip of the tongue, Everything that had happened in her past life had not happened yet.
