Chapter 41 

Frank sighed on the other end of the phone and said, “I don’t think it’ll be that easy. It seems like Noelle is truly hurt this time.” 

He had tried to coax her, but there hadn’t been any improvements. In fact, Noelle hadn’t even replied to his message, nor did she return home after leaving that restaurant. 

In the past, he would have immediately sent someone to look for her. He might even threaten her by saying that he would call the police. 

But now, Frank was too afraid that he would only anger Noelle further. So, he could only wait for her reply. 

More importantly, he was wary of that mysterious school doctor. 

It was no wonder that he could not find any trace of Noelle in the past. 

Lucas was in denial as he said, “Frank, Noelle has always had a great relationship with us. 

“Doesn’t she love us the most? I believe that all of the misunderstandings will be resolved, and everything will be fine if I explain myself and put in the effort to coax her.” 

Frank frowned. “Don’t appear before her while she’s preparing for her exams.” 

• “I know not to cross the line.” 

Lucas ended the call, knowing what he had to do to cheer Noelle up. He had just been reluctant to do it before. Nevertheless, it was a trivial matter. 

Lucas then pressed open his chat with Noelle and sent her a message. 

When Noelle finished playing her game, she returned to her room and saw an unread message as she got ready for bed. 

She had assumed it was a message from Frank but was surprised to see that it was actually a message from Lucas when she clicked on the message. 

The message read, “Noelle, let’s meet at the cafe opposite your school once you finish class. I have something I’d like to say to you.” 

Noelle skimmed through his message and recalled the slap Lucas had given her. She then deleted his number from her WhatsApp and went to sleep peacefully. 

Early the next day, she took a cab to her school alone as Cedric was not working that day. 

When she arrived at her school, she saw a luxurious and eye–catching car parked at the side of the road, and a number of people were gathered around it. Looking at their uniforms, she
