Noelle had not expected her patience to pay off—another clue had surfaced. It seemed like her decision to return to the Liddells and force Xenia into a corner was the right one.
"Ms. Liddell, but the man in the photo isn't the same one we saw before," Tilly informed her.
Noelle opened the pictures Tilly had sent. The driver, a middle-aged man, definitely was not Sean. Nonetheless, since it was the same dealership car, Sean had some kind of connection to this guy.
With more leads than before, she was getting closer to the truth. She simply ordered Tilly, "Keep digging."
Noelle said nothing else. After all, she was still at the Liddell residence, and it was best to be careful.
"Ms. Liddell, the kickback scandal has dragged in multiple foundations, including members of Ms. Merlock's organization and Hopeful Hearts Foundation. The Cantrell family is already trying to suppress the media coverage, but the damage has been done."
"Got it," Noelle replied. After hanging up, she could not shake the feeling that this was not just some coincidence—someone had done this on purpose.
With this big scandal, no one would pay attention to the sanitary pad issue anymore. Everyone had their own fires to put out now, scrambling for damage control. If that were the case, no one would remember the Liddells' involvement in the scandal.
Noelle wondered if Donovan was behind this. However, the Cantrells got caught in the crossfire, too. Would he really risk angering them?
Later, she freshened up and changed before heading downstairs, just in time to hear Donovan snapping, "Wyatt, have you lost your damn mind? Do you have any idea how many people you just dragged into this? Do you think the Liddells can afford to offend them all?"
Wyatt sounded unfazed. "Donovan, this was the perfect way to shut everyone up. No one will dare laugh at the Liddells over that sanitary pad mess—because none of their hands are clean either."
"You pulled a stunt this big without even discussing it with me first?" Donovan looked like he was about to explode.
Xenia quickly stepped in. "Donovan, don't be mad. Wyatt only did this for me. He just returned to Yasnia, and he doesn't understand how things work here yet. It was an honest mistake."
