Donovan's mind suddenly buzzed as things were suddenly becoming a lot clearer. But before he could react, Wyatt spoke up first.

"Noelle, drop the act. Everyone in the foundation knows this kind of thing happens—it's an unspoken rule. You're just using this as an excuse to go after Xenia."

Noelle almost laughed. "Xenia broke the law. That's a fact.

Wyatt argued, "Are you seriously making a big deal out of something this minor? You're just targeting Xenia, and now that she's your future sister-in-law, I won't allow you to treat her this way!"

Noelle chuckled in disbelief. There was no point in arguing with an idiot, and she had no interest in wasting any more words. "Save it for the police."

Wyatt sneered. "Noelle, do you really think you can threaten Xenia? The supplier already admitted that he was the one who swapped the products for expired sanitary pads. Xenia only took a small kickback, which wasn't even that much. This isn't a big deal."

Noelle clenched her jaw. Technically, what he said was true. Nonetheless, that did not mean she was going to let Xenia off the hook.

She replied, "No point explaining it to me—let's see what the police find."

With that, Noelle turned and walked out of the Liddell residence. Xenia glared at her retreating figure, seething with hatred as she silently vowed that one day, she would make sure that bitch was dead.

But for now, she had to focus on survival. She wiped her tears and sniffled as she turned to Wyatt. "Wyatt, this is all my fault. I caused trouble, and now you and Donovan are fighting because of me."

"Xenia, you're my fiancée. Of course, I'll stand by you. Donovan will understand."

Wyatt glanced at Donovan, his resentment lingering. His leg and his entire life had been ruined because Donovan ignored those calls, forcing Noelle to sign off on the amputation. He believed both Noelle and Donovan owed him.

Donovan scoffed and stormed off. How had he never realized before that Xenia was both dumb and dangerous? He had originally wanted to use Xenia to pressure Noelle, to force that stubborn girl into submission. However, Xenia was turning out to be just as much of a problem.

As he drove off, he spotted Noelle walking along the road. Rolling down the window, he called out, "Where are you going?"
