"There's a fight going on outside!" someone shouted as they burst into the room, causing me to dash out in a hurry.
I ran outside just in time to see Allen's fist connecting with Conrad's face.
"Stop it, Allen! Stop!" I yelled, rushing over to pull him away.
With a swift motion, he shoved me aside, and I hit the wall with a loud thud. My head spun, everything inside feeling like it had been rattled out of place. It took me a moment to gather my wits.
Conrad, who hadn't thrown a punch until now, glanced over at me, concern etched on his face. "Felicia..."
The moment he called my name, he swung back at Allen, and the two of them were soon grappling like two wild dogs.
I rubbed my aching head as I watched them go at it, unsure of what else to do but call for security.
By the time they were pulled apart, both of them were worse for wear. Conrad had a nosebleed that wouldn't quit, and he was pinching his nose, tilting his head back as if trying to stop the flow.
Though I was curious about why they started brawling, Conrad's bleeding worried me more. I went over to him, "Conrad, you need to see a doctor."
He didn't budge but instead asked, "Are you okay?"
I nodded, insisting, "Let me take you."
"No need, it'll stop soon," he refused.
I was about to argue further when Allen shouted, "You bastard, Conrad! Where's my mom? Give me back my mom!"
I froze, confused. Wasn't his mom lost in that fire? Why was he demanding her from Conrad?
"Allen, what the hell's wrong with you?" I demanded.
Allen shot me a cold glare. "Ask him."

Good read. I like it when the protagonist is awesome, smart and straightforward as Felicia....
