"Threatened miscarriage!"
When those words hit my ears, I felt like I was in some sort of surreal dream.
Miscarriage?!
"Doctor, are you saying I'm pregnant?" I asked, both shocked and thrilled, clutching the doctor’s white coat.
"You didn't know?" The doctor seemed as surprised as I was, but then she launched into a mini-lecture. "You young folks these days, always caught up in your own fun, never thinking of the consequences."
The doctor assumed Conrad and I were a couple and didn’t hold back her scolding.
At that moment, I didn’t have the energy to explain or worry about her judgment. I just needed to confirm, "Doctor, am I really pregnant?"
"Yes, but the pregnancy is at risk of miscarriage. Whether you can keep the baby is still uncertain," her words made me clutch her coat even tighter.
"Doctor, please, you have to help me keep this baby," my voice broke with emotion.
Lately, I’d been daydreaming about having a baby, and it seemed like my little one heard my wishes and decided to come along. But I was so clueless, I hadn’t even realized and let my baby be startled.
A wave of guilt washed over me as I silently prayed, "Please, little one, be okay, please..."
"You need to stay in bed and rest. Apart from bathroom breaks and meals, you shouldn’t be doing anything. We’ll monitor you for a week, and if the bleeding continues, it’s not a good sign for the baby," the doctor said as she typed away, clicking keys to prepare an electronic prescription.
"Can I stay here to rest?" I was too scared to move, wanting nothing more than to stay at the hospital.
This hospital had Fanny, who happened to be the head of obstetrics. If she wasn’t in surgery, she’d definitely be helping me personally.

Good read. I like it when the protagonist is awesome, smart and straightforward as Felicia....
