Lenora stepped forward, her expression serious. “I just saw the driver responsible for my father’s death.” Upon hearing that, Sophia comforted, “Huh? Don’t be upset. You’ve already done your best to seek justice for your father…” 

That was the brutal reality of a car accident. 

The victim had died, yet the perpetrator often escaped with a sentence far from capital punishment, typically being released after a few years. However, for the victim’s family, the pain was something they could never truly heal from. 

With a gentle smile, Lenora said, “I understand. The matter has long been settled. I won’t cling to the past anymore.” 

Legally, everything had been settled. However, in her heart, she could never forgive the perpetrator. 

Lenora spent the day strolling around Sparaville with Sophia. Afterward, they took the high–speed train back to Jacaster, returning to Sophia’s loft. 

The moment they opened the door, a long–forgotten scene unfolded before their eyes. 

Lenora and Sophia casually tossed their suitcases aside and sprawled out on the couch.

In reality, she didn’t mind if Lenora stayed there indefinitely. However, she knew that without accepting any money, Lenora would certainly be reluctant to stay for long- 

After some thought, Lenora asked, “Would you mind if I kept a cat?” 

“Of course, not! Let’s shower it with love!” 

“All right!” Lenora immediately agreed and asked, “How much is this place going for now?” 

“All I need from you is a million.” 

“All right. I’ll transfer the money to you through the bank tomorrow.” 

“No rush.” 

The two of them lounged on the couch, watching two movies back to back, and then idly played on their phones. As the day gradually faded into the evening. Lenora put down her phone and suggested, “All right. Let’s clean up a bit and then head to bed.”

Lenora gave a faint smile. “Miranda, I’m no longer married to him, so there’s no need to call me Mrs. Fuller anymore. I’m here today to pick up Cotton.” 

Miranda let out a sigh. “Ms. Wilkin, Cotton isn’t here at the moment.” 

Lenora was taken aback. “Cotton isn’t here?” 

“Yeah.” Miranda sighed. “It’s all my fault. I took Cotton to play in the courtyard for a while that day. Perhaps it was too small, its immunity weak, or the courtyard was probably too damp for it. Unexpectedly Cotton started to develop cat moss, so Mr. Fuller brought Cotton to the pet hospital” 

Cat moss wasn’t life–threatening but could cause hair loss in cats. In severe cases, it could spread throughout the body, requiring a long treatment period and topical medication wouldn’t be very effective. However, Cotton was too young, and oral medication could potentially harm its liver. 

Lenora felt a pang of worry, “Which pet hospital is Cotton at?” 

“Um… I’m not sure.” Miranda apologized, shaking her head. “Mr. Fuller was the one who brought it to the hospital, and he didn’t say.” 

Miranda suggested, “He’s at home right now, so why don’t you ask him?”
