The lights and cameras were set. The host hesitated before asking, “Mr. Hayes, would you consider wearing a cap and perhaps a touch of makeup? It might enhance your 

appearance on camera.” 

lan’s cool gaze turned toward him sharply. “Do you think I’m ugly?” 

The host, breaking into a sweat, hurriedly replied, “Not at all, Mr. Hayes. Your looks set the standard for the whole of Northbridge. It’s just that the bandage on your head is a bit distracting. Our interview today is about the economic recovery after the pandemic, and your current look somewhat suggests that you’re a survivor of a catastrophe.” 

lan’s deep–set eyes darkened. “This look is the result of not having enough time for my girlfriend because I’ve been busy with the economic recovery. Is there a problem with that?”

The director, hearing this, immediately smiled and said, “No problem at all. It aligns. perfectly with our content. I didn’t expect you to be so down–to–earth, Mr. Hayes.” 

He quickly whispered to the host, “Let’s tweak the discussion topics. I guarantee this. interview is going to be explosive.” 

Meanwhile… 

Today was Clara’s first day in court, and she was somewhat nervous. After all, everything she had learned so far was theoretical. She had never been on the real battlefield.
