No Strings Attached novel (Clara and Ian) novel Chapter 389

Dexter thumped his chest with a smug grin. "Ever heard of Green Shadow Media? The biggest media conglomerate in the country? I'm their go-to director. I can make a nobody a star overnight. And you—what can you possibly offer her? Got any of these connections? A pretty face ain't worth a dime if you don't have the clout like I do."

Chase chuckled dismissively, "Wow, that's quite the hot air you're blowing. I'm practically trembling."

"If you know what's good for you, you'll leave her with me, and I won't make a fuss. Otherwise, don't blame me for not playing nice."

Raising an eyebrow, Chase asked, "And if I refuse?"

"That'll be on your head!" Dexter signaled to his bodyguard with a nod, who immediately charged at Chase.

But before he could get close, Chase delivered a swift kick to the bodyguard’s groin. The man doubled over, clutching himself and howling in pain.

Dexter, teeth gritted in anger, snarled, "You just wait. I'll make you pay today!"

Whipping out his phone, he dialed a number. "Mr. Lee, there's a ruckus at the event. Need your backup."

Mr. Lee responded with authority, "Hang tight. I'll see who dares mess with our golden goose."

As Dexter smugly raised an eyebrow, Mr. Lee and his entourage approached, cursing under their breaths. "Who's got the gall to mess with Dexter? They surely want to end their career, don't they? I'll see to it they're ruined."

But as Mr. Lee strutted forward, a nonchalant voice called out, "Mr. Lee, looking fierce."

Hearing the voice, Mr. Lee's hair stood on end. He turned toward the source of the sound, and upon recognizing the face, he immediately bent over in apology. "Sorry, Mr. Chase, I had no idea you were here. My apologies for the offense."
